Solanke having medical. Apparently Hodgson knows him through playing for England. Surely it’s worth a gamble, can’t get any worse with the strikers we’ve got!? Fair play. Roy thinks he can do something and good to have some early business done. Will dream that other business might be done up front. COYP !!

I will feel massively more confident of us playing better football with options of Benteke, Wickham and Solanke than Ayew and Sortloth! Reading some comments I’ve no idea what people are expecting. We are never going to get a proven goal scorer I’m sorry. At least if we have three options we can ply different formations and get Wilf back on the wing.

Regards Solanke, I don't think he has played a single game this season and last season scored 1 goal for Liverpool in 27 Apps although I suspect most were from the bench.

We could have Harry Kane up front and he wouldnt score in this team. We have no creative midfielder

From all the youtubes I've seen of DS, he looks more of an attacking-forward-winger-dribbler than an out-and-out striker. He would strengthen things in the final third for us and I'd therefore welcome him, but I didn't see any great shots at goal from him and lots of misses with little power. So IMHO if Roy wants him it is to cover Zaha's role, not as another CF like Benteke or Wickham. And while I'm posting, I want to say that I still rate Sorloth from what I've seen him do up forward. I think that with proper minutes and the right team selected (not the latest line-up against Chelsea at home rubbish) he will deliver the goods.

I too think Sorloth it’s worth persevering with, but Hodgson has hardly given him any game time and rumours link him with a loan deal, so it looks like he doesn’t have much of a future in Selhurst!
