I perhaps shouldn’t have used the words “there’s no obligation to inject cash”. What I meant was that when a company hits hard times, its shareholders DON’T inject new cash.

What you are referring to my old Badger is a rights issue (or similar) where a company aims to raise extra capital from its shareholders. This would tend to take place in ‘good times’ or ‘optimistic times’ ie a business looking to expand. To answer your question, yes - in theory those shareholders who don’t take part in the rights issue ie don’t stump up the capital will end up with a smaller share of the company than before. Someone may need to help me here, but I think that their ‘rights’ then go to the marketplace - in other words other investors can buy the ‘right’ to inject the capital and thereby acquire new shares at a lower price than the ‘old’ shares.

A rights issue is a right of the company to ask the shareholders for more funds with new shares being issued and being sold. The new shares usually being at a discount to the current share price.
A shareholder can sell the option in the market place and be given an amount which roughly makes up for the dilution in share price.
There is no injection of capital, it is simply the buying and selling of the new shares to share holders or others.
A rights issue is instigated to prop up a company who needs capital to survive or to invest in machinery or acquisition of another company.
Could be good or bad depending on the company and why is it required.

I could go into numbers and an example, but it could only cloud the issue. See DSSmith who have recently had a rights issue to fund a major acquisition.

This weeks top tip ....buy DSSmith

Its ok to call it the wireless elgrande when we get to your age, but chryst is just 52, my old grandad always called it the wireless, but times are changing, you gotta keep up! wern"t you in the taxi game? Surely you cant support the CONS after them letting non domicile uber in to the country paying no tax, based in amsterdam office? Ruined the lobdon taxi game, illegally so, as we speak the case against tfl is in court, and CON pm cameron, CON chancellor ozzy osborne, ands CON mayor boris bunter, were complicit in allowing them in illegally, even the CON supporting daily mail had a great expose on it, only because the story was out, surely a taxi driver even in bedford can2t support the party letting a non tax paying , american banker invested company in to our country?

I'm no fan of Theresa May but unemployment is at lowest for 40 years under the Tories.

I don't like May or here government either and I am a Tory. A bit strong to call it the worst government in history. Chamberlain, Heath, Wilson (1974), Callaghan spring to mind. Oh and King John didn't exactly win many friends either.

I could've sworn there was a general election last year.

Did you go to a grammar school by any chance? you sound a bit like "nanny will do it", rees mogg, nothing wrong with grammar schools or any good schools by the way, but wireless? Do you go in to currys, in chatham, and ask for a wireless?

Well i suppoae if ashburton high school was a grammar school from 1988 to 1993 then yes i did. Somehow though it wasnt.
The reason i say croydon is because it has high crime statistically and i was born in mayday as well as my daughter. I found the nhs brilliant as it saved my wife and daughters life during her birth due to complications and an emergency cesarean section.
I wouldnt be ashamed to ask for a wireless if i sid want one. I try not to get embarrassed in life.

At 52 im sure im old enough to call it a wireless.
Spent a lot of time around grandparents before they popped so it rubbed off.
Also im not an uber user but the price of black cabs is very expensive so it needed competition as in our capitalist society that is the norm.

That would explain it then, wireless i mean, yeah, we are expensive cryst but its the way they did it, illegally is the issue, thats why its in court this week, and a new taxi is 65k cash, or more on finance, thats so we can carry wheelchairs, and allowing any car to ply for hire as in uber for about a grand isn"t a level playing field, thats why black taxis are dying out, and believe it or not tfl issued around 13000 uber licences to drivers with fake details, covered it up for a year, and when its been exposed a few months ago they said, we have found 2000 of the 13000 and asked them to submit real details! Thats why theirs been lots of rapes and sexual assaults in london in the back of an uber/minicab in the past year, and thats down to the CONservatives watering down a 400 year old industry to make money, ( osborne. cameron, theresa mays husband all have shares in blackrock/uber)

Ok i get that its expensive and time consuming to do the knowledge and buy the wheels.
Cards on the table then what annual salary can you expect to earn as a cabbie.
Truth mind not just if its a good or bad week with weather etc.
Just an average per year you think you have earned in say the last 5 years. Not taking out any fuel or servicing just the cash through your hands.

I have read that a lot of peoole want or like a no commitment job.
Plus the wages are generally higher.
Loads of these employees couldnt afford to go on the cards.
This particular hot potatoe has been hijacked by do gooders wanting to be heroes. I dont see the actual people on tv saying they like the way it is as it would affect the antiestsblishment cause.
Your job is zero hours
How much do you think it would drop by if you worked for someone?
