Impressive! I know Reading are Championship, but the Palace players seemed to know what they were doing and were quite inventive in what they tried. Wilf was outstanding, of course - let's hope that the fact he was played for all 90 minutes means there's no transfer deal imminent. Sorloth's goal was a cracker, the kind of thing Tekkers failed to do all last season.

The right place at the right time

Wickham looked neat and tidy coming off the bench. He scored some stunners in the season he got injured. I really hope he stays fit this season as I think he could make a difference, especially if we don't sign another striker.

The thing that has impressed me about Palace both in the pre-season friendlies, and in our performances toward the end of last season,is just how much our game has improved under Roy.

We are playing a very attractive brand of football with neat crisp passing and maintaining possession far better than we used to.

Yup, he was immaculately turned out and a credit to whoever gets him ready

Wilf
Wickham
Benteke
Kaikai
Sørloth

We really don’t need to spend our limited funds on another forward...

Those five should see us good.

Mr Schlupp showed the link up play with PVA and Wilf that he talks about on the home page.
If he starts being consistent it could be very good for us.

I’d be happy with that, if we could just sign the mythical creative midfielder/playmaker.

Scorers of goals
just got in great win but who scored when?

I have Sorloth 33, Milo 48, Wilf 64, Tommo 68?

Wilf scored the 2nd and 3rd goal. Your timings are correct.

Total team performance, gotta be happy with that. Everyone looked sharp. No negatives but Zaha is such a lynchpin that I hope we can adapt our game play for the times when he won’t be available.
