I don't think that can be true, they have freed up cash from Cabaye and Sako to name a few, but I am not sure anyone really knows.

To be honest, I think Palace have played a cunning game by making everyone think that they have no cash, although I think they need to drop the charade shortly.

Just not a very good one in this moment, after his injury. He played 9 matches for the Liverpool U21s last year and scored just 1 goal. 700 minutes that was. Against the mighty Sunderland, Derby, Leicester and Swansea U21s. Strikers who scored more than 20 goals per season at U21 level are not worth more than 10 million, let alone 20. Cause in order to be worth that, you'd have to score every 50 minutes at that level.

All Strikers seem to get dragged all over the field nowadays anyway.
He is absolutely not worth a punt except as a loan or a freebie

I'm reading 24m! No way no way no way!!!

Far too much money to spend on a player that has been injured for so long and to be honest...isnt worth 24m even in his best form.

I would rather have Jay Rodriguez for half the price.

I think Benteke will have a much-improved season this time out; we saw how he played decently all over the pitch last season and he just needs to get his confidence back. We also have both Wickham and Sorloth in the frame. We’ve shown that goals don’t necessarily need to come from up front and, indeed, over the past thirty years or so, we’ve had comparatively few out and out strikers who’ve performed significantly and consistently - Wright/Bright, Armstrong, Dougie,
Clinton, AJ and FFS. Now we have two scoring defenders (PVA and Tomkins) and a pretty prolific midfield (Wilf, Luka, MacArthur).

Getting another striker in isn’t nearly as important as a fluid, fast and creative midfield. And we certainly don’t want to be taking expensive punts on long-term injured players who were almost certainly over-valued in the first place.
