Well, I wasn’t suggesting there was necessarily a financial incentive; it may just be that that kind of work attracts some people with certain personality profiles.

At the end of the day, they are doing their jobs. If people parked legally then they wouldn't have to worry about PCNs.

The main issue with traffic wardens is that they should be there to stop people parking in dangerous places, from impeding traffic, or causing a nusience to residences. However, they are assigned in areas to maximise revenue and not public safety and that's mainly the fault of councils.

I tried to appeal through the appeal pages on line.
Got an error over three days so not accepting it on line.
I rang got another email address so sent to that.
20 days I should know.
Won't hold my breath

There is a parking God.
Got my appeal accepted and pcn cancelled.
They did state that it is 'this time' so won't get away with a bad ticket display again I presume.
Job done.
