Mixed emotions. I told myself after the first four defeats to wait until we had lost the first eight (it ended up the first seven as Chelsea was a shock), then put a largeish bet on a top half finish. Then chickened out. He who dares Rodney.

I now have a feeling we will win this one. Despite their recent good run West Brom they are going to feel deflated now that they are relegated. We on the other hand will be buoyant. In the last 4 seasons we have have done well in our last home game even when there has been nothing at stake. Also, we haven't actually lost a game to a side that is currently in the bottom half of the table since the famous 7 at the start of the season. Let's not spoil that run.

All four of the so-called "big six" teams in action tonight so far disgracing themselves again, unfortunately. Pathetic.

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Not much of a surprise with Arsenal is it and Chelsea playing like di**s at home again. Could do with Spurs cracking two more and we'd move up to 10th. It looks like Newcastle are giving them a good game though.

Well any chance we had of coming ninth has gone up in smoke due to Arsenal failing yet again to turn up. At least Spurs are doing the business - just about - so far. Chelsea were f***ing s***e as well and as a result the f***ing clogger scum are staying up. The goal they let in was a total joke. Another lot of overpaid balloons that should be ashamed of themselves. I don't know why everyone's going on about how good Huddersfield were these last two games. They played their usual game of hacking, kicking, fouling and hoofing and hoping the other lot would f*** up. It's just that their opponents couldn't be arsed. Weed are getting schooled by Citeh at least. So. We can finish tenth if we beat West Brom and Toon don't beat the shower of s***e I've just been watching. If we don't then the following can catch us: Bournemouth - away v Burnley In each case they would need to win if we get a point. Now normally all of those fixtures would be nulle points but of course none of those teams can be trusted to take the matches seriously and two of them have serious form for rocking up with windbreaks, picnic baskets and f***ing plastic snorkels. The other club, Burnley, has just joined the Europa club and has nothing to play for so if they are aspiring to be a top team now we can presumably expect them also to be more interested in sunbathing than in showing the rest of the league the slightest respect. Incidentally even if Toon win on Sunday we can still get above them into tenth if we win by just one more goal than them. Summary: see on Sunday we've to go out and do the business against West Brom. Spank them and we're top half. Edited by chateauferret (09 May 2018 10.00pm)

Right, so if we beat West Brom on Sunday and by one more goal than Newcastle beat Chelsea, we will finish 10th. We will have the same goal difference as Newcastle, but have scored more goals .

Technically they could get to 44 points with a win at home to Everton and to Utd tomorrow. It would be just like Utd to turn up in flip flops.
