The far left and their fondness of the word, 'shame'.

It's quite amusing really. It use to be the domain of the religious right, but the far left have co-oped the word and now use it for their purity testing.

They use it in much the same way the religious puritans used it....the only difference is in who the targets are.

I think it's just a word that anyone can use. The far right can use it too, if you want.

Do they? I don't really hear it on Warski streams (though that has recently self imploded). In fact they have criticism terms for concepts like 'shame' and 'purity testing', they call it 'moral fagging'.

The progressive left are all about the witch hunts and 'shaming' people into the actions that they consider moral.

Your last last three words are silly.

But don't worry about the state of British politics when a small issue like this can make a Home Secretary resign.

Home Secretary caught telling lies to the country is a small issue to you?

The prosecution rests.

And, back on topic, probably would. We all know that bigger ladies often put in the effort that others don't.

It wouldn't be if it was Abbot.

That is normal for politicians. Her mistake was to lie about a minority related issue and get caught out.

Showing your prejudices here Peffers, I hadn't even thought of them. They are barely relevant.

What minority groups are you thinking of that are solely white?

Your humour is appreciated but the sentiment, as usual,is just deluded.

Can't agree about the opposition being useless. I don't think there has ever been a politician more lied about in the media than Corbyn. If you believed the papers and the BBC Corbyn is Satan's brother. The amount of reluctant apologies from papers for lying is testament to that. Tory MP's having to do the same - some after being taken to court.

If people dislike him because of his policies - then I can only say that Thatcher (may she not RIP) succeeded in making Socialism a dirty word. May and others won't resign because they won't resign, it's a disturbing development. There's nothing that would be bad enough to resign, after all she's already shown that she'll do anything to stay in power - the DUP bung being the best example.

I think you will find that it was socialists. Thatcher reduced union power and the stranglehold it had on government and the rest of us who had to endure endless strikes.

So you believe that the shambolic Labour party with 56 less seats and nearly 1 Mill less votes should have formed the Government ?

If the Labour Party had been the largest party in terms of MPs they would have done exactly the same.

Objection

Using personal opinion/agenda to misrepresent the truth for the sake of a circumstantial narrative represented as fact (again)

Politicians do not only get called out on lies if they are minority related. It is also clearly not a dominant theme that if you are caught 'doing a wrong' and it's not a minority issue, you'll get away with it or it will be ignored.

That is a clear fact, rather than my opinion.

Do such incidents get more airtime because they are related to minorities? Probably. Does that kind of make sense? Arguably. Does that therefore result in more exposure, debate and extremes and as a result more drastic punishments for MPs? Quite possibly. Should the same level of attention be shone on 'non-minority' related 'wrongs' – Absolutely (in my opinion).

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.
