Ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in the 5-4 game against Swansea and was carted off on a stretcher with an oxygen mask off and obviously in a ridiculous amount of pain. Any fool could see how serious that was likely to be.

Just logged back in, not on here much so apologies for not answering sooner, I think a few on here have educated you already on the injury although I suspect you are a seasoned medical professional and already knew that since you are an expert on recovery times.

To answer a couple more of your salient points, no I don’t wasn’t on holiday with him, were you? Call me a “fool” if you like but I’ll beleive that he would give a hell of a lot to be playing again. And it’s not a “Wickham love in”, not one person on here has implied it is, rather it’s some fans choosing to support the team and it’s players through thick and thin rather than just be fair weather fans. That said I don’t expect you to change your mind, just make sure you don’t cheer if he comes back fighting fit and banging in the goals as that would make you a massive hypocrite which I’m certain you aren’t....

Still amazes me how negative people are about CW all because he picked up a nasty injury PLAYING FOR PALACE!

Check his injury record prior to that injury (that I again remind you he got playing for palace) and you’ll see he isn’t even close to being a sicknote.

I for one will be hoping that he gets back to his best rather than falsely labelling him a sicknote, demanding the club stop wasting money on him or implying that he doesn’t even want to be playing. I mean Jesus, any other profession someone gets hurt at work you wish them the best and welcome them back with open arms.

Football cannot be compared to any other profession purely because footballers Have completely different contractual conditions. They do not have a retirement age of 67 etc.
Sadly, Most players with a knee injury of this severity struggle to return at their previous speed.i reckon Palace will be hoping he can get fit enough to transfer to the lower leagues.
My opinion is that if that happens that will be better for Connor than the inevitable alternative of retirement.
I hope I am wrong and he comes bouncing back, but I am not holding my breath.

Not sure I remember speed being a major part of his game. More guile and power. That won’t be effected with the injury.

I would say in Connor's defence that just before his terrible injury he was playing the best he had for us and was looking dangerous in front of goal.

Football has a vicious side to it though and players can be discarded like a stale loaf when they lose their edge, but I think he will be given an opportunity to prove himself before any decisions are made whether to offload him, as is the right thing to do.

Absolutely he was, was making me feel we could really do something in the league with him.
Rough what happened to him, but for a striker, he does throw himself about a bit, gives 110%.
