Sad news indeed. Never met him although we engaged here on the HOL a few times. RIP, fella.

Definitely all loved his company! The HOL corner in the Whitehorse was the scene of many a good Saturday pre match drink! Where I first met Alan and many of the people from here I still keep contact with, great days in the old HOL corner but I always questioned why it was chosen beside the toilets, Forest was at fault for that I believe but I'm glad Alan used to frequent there. Always winding up Teejay at away games for being 'the jinx', happy days that wouldn't have been the same without Alan. May he rest in peace. Edited by Deleagle (22 Apr 2018 4.38pm)

I'm still trying to get a ticket to the Leicester game, so probably won't know for sure if I'm going until later in the week. Is anyone going to suggest a pub to raise a glass for a pre-match drink ? The Whitehorse is now The Holmesdale I have no idea of his latest pre-match watering hole, but I think it would be appropriate to use that Anyone going to name the pub for a meet ?
I disengage, I turn the page. |

Always sad news when champions pass. Clearly a nice fellah as he touched so many Palace fans with his generosity and passion for the club
Red & Blue since ' 76.. And what a fine year that was and has been ever since... ! |

Okay people the 'official ' have a last drink on Alan will be in The Whitehorse / Holmesdale on the last day of the season before and after the West Bromwich match. This was Alan's favourite haunt and we all have fond memories of drinks there with him. This of course stop anyone raising a glass to Alan anytime they wish. Alan was one of my oldest and closest friends, knew him for 50 years. Whenever I mention Alan to any of my other friends he has been introduced to they always smile about the memories they have of him , and I too always smile when I think of him.
