Roy needs To to use subs earlier to get them into the game,

Do they train for full matches that last 110 minutes
? then they won’t get to 85 mins and think sit tight for five and the game will finish.

Good to see Daly on the bench but why not use him. Annoying when we don’t have enough fit players then the bench is left sitting there twiddling their thumbs whilst players tire and struggle and concede silly goals.

AWB looked knackered at the end of the last game. Cabyaye can’t do 90 mins and Wilf and Jimmy Mac and PVA and Luka and Andros run around like mad making up for others.

Just frustrated when we see this happening week in week out when we can’t finish games off.

Exactly right! as an opposition player would I rather be up against a Cabaye who's been on for 90 minutes or a Jairo who's been on for 5. These players are tired and it shows in the last 10 minutes of games

Yes it mutters, dont bring on Lee for last few minutes, what has he ever given us as late sub?

A late substitution would taken the sting out of the game and it would not have mattered who came on, but to concede in the last couple minutes again is infuriating.

One other thing, there was no one on the back post when the corner came in, are we learning from all these mistakes I am not so sure?

I will say I don't think it's just down to the substitutions, we're also too respectful. Get the ball in the corner, take as long as possible with everything. We never waste time

Why not use Rakip as a sub Cabaye, fresh legs, seems keen and must be fit now surely.

If we don’t use him what was the point of getting him. Why not even put Jairo in the back and use tompkins for 15 mins as centre forward. Can’t be any worse than Benteke.

agree with this completely. Maybe if they can take 10 minutes to walk off, maybe fall down clutching their leg on the way for a bit, even better

[quote=Willo;332570
We all know the reason why Kane scored but delaney replaced an injured player and delaney was not up to speed with the game. we have brought on Tompkins in the past and we let in a goal almost straight away.
Its more about why we no longer have player on the line, should be asked....

Hodgson is a vastly experienced and capable manager and it is perhaps presumptious to assume that he can take lessons from those who are not steeped in his knowledge of the game.

I believe that when you are leading in the last 15 mins perhaps there is a tendency to 'Let sleeping dogs lie' unless of course certain players are visibly flagging.

Hodgson will have had good reasons not to have brought on the players listed - he did bring on a player against Tottenham and he was culpable in relation to the late goal they scored at a corner so substitutes don't always work !

If Roy with his vast wealth of experience along with the supporting coaching team et al can’t see we we see i.e. players are tired maybe specsavers need to sponser us.....

This tiredness in the squad is highlighted weekly, if you let sleeping dogs lie they do nod off......

Why is Jairo not on the bench, younger than Delaney, fit by now and will be keen to do a job as does Delaney. Yes experience is good but so is raw talent that is eager to do well.

Seems Hodgson has learned from the Bournemouth game and utilised the bench yesterday to get us over the line.

Cabaye and Loftus-Cheek looked tired when the came off, and even though Benteke looked ineffective when he came on, bringing Riedewald on to shut out the game seemed the right option.

Probably wouldn’t have said so if Murray didn’t miss from 3 yards out right at the end mind!

That would have been yet again nobody's fault in particular, but it would have been the price of once again failing to retain the ball on winning it in defence and booting it upfield to be brought back to us instead of doing something useful with it or at least stopping weed from getting it back for a while.

Who could we bring on. Mutch ?
Of more crucial importance is the Club`s performance in the last transfer window.
Who was responsible for bringing in the Pole and
the Benfica.?
If the club`s performance in the window was stronger
then RH would have a better bench to use

Spot on. We had a really feeble January transfer windowt
