My Gran had one of those but it was converted in the 1800s. When I was a kid it had flagstone floors, a proper outhouse, and a water pump in the orchard. I don't remember electricity, but it may have.

I have every intention of getting out of London, never to return, over the course of the next 12 months.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

London's not all bad, Dermot...much depends on where you live and if you are fortunate enough to have a decent home free of a***hole neighbours (increasingly difficult nowadays).

Went up again weekend before last (having liked what i saw previously); viewed another 6 properties and just had an offer accepted on one. Even the kids loved the area...and they were the sceptics before going up there to have a look around...

interest rates just up .25 %.

you bought a 1 million quid home in London ? Interest only mortgage ?

Your monthly payments just jumped from 420 quid up to 630 quid. Maybe cancel those delivery pizza's every evening darling, i hear Lidl has some nice frozen ones.

Time to sell house before the stampede.
