All the games against teams around us will be horrible niggly nervy games.
I just don't think we have enough about us this time to beat the drop. Our defenders concentration late on in games lets us down badly and up front we have next to nowt to shout about. Zaha when fit cannot do everything himself, he needs a decent striker to work with which we do not have so where our match winning goals come from only the football gods know cos I sure cannot think where.
Hennessy is not good enough and our midfield is average at best.
I just do not see us surviving this time.

It’s in our hands. Just enjoy the rough ride.

Whilst it is clear that Wilf returning will boost the attack it is the defence that is my worry. The return of the Beast at the back and how it performs may well be more crucial.

I am not sure any one factor will be more, or less important. We will stay up, or go down, in the round. I think we have made a fairly good fist of the last three games, we have found W-B, Sakho will gel the back together, Zaha will help create chances. It’s all good.

it's sort of depressing that we are SO at the whim of the injuries we get. best 11 we will coast upward...a few injuries will be a huge challenge

Great post by the OP. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season.

We'll finish 14th / 15th and it won't even go to the last day against WBA, which will be a kind of friendly with our boys looking forward to summer and them already relegated.

As long as we fight, drop Benteke, and give it plenty from the stands, this is what will definitely happen.

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue
Yours sincerely
Mile Jedinak

You made some good points that one can argue either way - however, the one highlighted is pure cr@p. In our 4-2-3-1 formation our midfield is:

Luka - Cabaye
Zaha - RLC - Townsend

Most people I talk to say that line up should be pressing for Europa League wih a dark horse chance of a Leicester style gate-crash. Why we have not is partly down to our surreal start; and to the injury to 3 of the 5.

Edit - a lot of bad luck has also brought us to where we are now.

Exactly the formation I would like to see, Roy has not wanted to play RLC there though has he? Would love to see RLC come back and fully vindicate Roys faith in him.

The two are linked.

Had we had Wilf, Cabaye and RLC available against United, it's likely that we'd have had maybe Schlupp, Sorloth and McArthur on the bench, able to bring them on fresh.

We would have been able to keep the ball better and press higher up the pitch.

We've conceded late goals against Spurs and Tottenham because the defence has been under siege too often.

The defenders themselves have played pretty well I thought, they just need a bit of a rest every now and then...

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Sky Sprouts asked four of their pundits who was going down and not one of them said Palace.
