If we go down, far from being a 'Saint' he will be viewed as a 'Sinner'.
In actual fact I suspect he is very much being seen in this light at the present time.

And Hodgson stresed the need for another goalkeeper and I believe he did say that with our squad situation in terms of depths and injuries we would need about 6 players. All we got was 2 players who hadn't played since November/December and another who coudn't even make the bench today. And the only fit keeper is a youngster with limited first-team experience !

Everton paid north of £25m for Tosun, he has hardly played.
Where do you think the money comes from to buy players, when 80% of TV money is going on players wages, a number of whom are injured.
The club cannot afford to spend £30 - £40m each window, if they find a player they want and his club don't want to sell, unless they get an over inflated price, its difficult.

Today is the day I got really worried. Too much going against us right now, it will take a near miracle to pull it off.

I think that question has been answered.

most of us knew way before today we are a one man team...its been the case since yannick left.

I totally understand where you are coming from and agree with your sentiments.I could add that it is difficult getting in players in January for different reasons and in general transfer negotiations can be complex, convoluted, protracted and disappointing when targets are not secured after much effort.

That said, it is disappointing that all we managed to bring in were 2 players who hadn't played since November/December, another who couldn't even make the bench today and no goalkeeper so we are left with only Henry as understudy to Hennessey.I contrast this with Watford who brought in Deulofeu, WBA who signed Sturridge, Newcastle who signed Slimani and Swansea who signed King and Ayew etc etc.I would rather express disappointment than apportion culpability at this stage.

Hopefully Sorloth can grow in confidence over the next few games and start to become the real threat that he already looked today. He might just start putting chances like his headed effort today away and save our season. The Everton defence didn’t quite know how to get the ball off of the 6 foot 5 giant when he had the ball.

This..!!

Just so fed up with all this negativity.

As I said in another thread we haven't been able to field our first choice 11 all season.

Get a few of the walking back onto the park with our run in we'll be fine.

Some people on here really need to get a grip and start supporting not trolling..!!

You sound like my Dad all doom and gloom - who's looking forward to the Championship next season..!!

Some people only seem to raise their heads when there is some negativity that they can comment on, when things going well you don't hear from them.

Makes you wonder where actually their alligencies lie..!!

If the cap fits and all that..!!

Well said!!

So looking forward to being able to drop Benteke. Sorloth looks like he can do the Benteke job plus actually look a threat in his own right.

Maybe after 7 games that statement might have had more validity. We've been here before and pulled out of it, so we have form. Will go right to the wire again. Get the sick bags in, strap yourself up and enjoy the ride.

We'll lose a few next games, so will the teams around us - so what is important is to finish strongly - we'll have players back fit for those games - keep the faith, we'll be ok as long as the players and fans stick together
