Awful window, if it ends as it stands. Our rivals have strengthened and we're left with the same two Championship level keepers, an out of form striker, and according to the Danish media, a wildly over-priced striker. No cover on the wings, no first team quality in midfield for a knackered Cabaye. If we get an injury to Zaha (heaven forbid) we are utterly f***ed. What's the contingency there. Same old s*** as the summer. Dreadful complacency and incompetence verging on negligent. I'll be delighted to be made a berk out of in the next hour if he pulls another couple out the bag, but as things stands, this is just usual sh*t. Not sure how he can spin his way out of it this time either.

Ibrahim Amadou has just left Crystal Palace’s London office to return to France – and is mortified after his move from Lille fails to materialise. Palace had agreed a deal with Lille but the deal collapsed because the Ligue 1 club could not recall a player currently on loan at Dijon – midfielder Xeka. Lille are currently under transfer embargo and cannot sign players. So they needed to recall Xeka to cover Amadou. Palace insiders say one of the most extraordinary transfer sagas they have been involved in.
Championship lvl action in this window ..

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sums up this transfer window' by Midlands Eagle s***. It's embarrassing really. Roy is working miracles with our crap squad and I really hope he continues. We REALLY need Benteke to start being the player he was last season. Edited by miles18 (31 Jan 2018 11.30pm)

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sums up this transfer window' by Midlands Eagle Absolutely pathetic window. Shambolic, disorganised, amateurish and feeble. Time will tell if the three "prospects" we have signed turn out good investments and that is what Freedman is here for. But we needed reasonably reliable reinforcements in some areas to be effective now and Hodgson said as much when interviewed on the matter. We have done absolutely nothing to address those requirements except let Lille and Getafe dick us about in the knowledge that we had no Plan B. And this is exactly what happened last time. Then we had no DoF and we had the excuse that de Boer was not contributing. No such excuses this time. I wouldn't be surprised if Hodgson followed Allardyce out the door now and we will have difficulty attracting any kind of manager in the future given the amateurish bodge we make of these important deals. I am now of the view that Parish needs to hand at least this aspect of running the club over to somebody competent and properly equipped to deal with it because he clearly isn't.

He did - Dougie Freedman for what it's worth.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sums up this transfer window' by Midlands Eagle Lille would have known this day's ago. Why allow this charade to go on so long? Pissed off a club and a player that they have to get playing for them again. Very strange.

Been saying the same thing for months and no one's bothered to listen. Parish is an absolute tool. I feel so sorry for Roy and I wouldn't be surprised if he walks tonight. I sure as hell wouldn't blame him. How crap a season do we need for him to get off his ass, spend some money and maybe have just a little bit of organisation? But hey, at least he enjoyed his skiing trip!

How long will it take our fans to realise that after nine managers in eight years, three of whom walked out on us, that maybe, JUST MAYBE, it's the people at the top who are the problem?
