Yes, glad we don't have a game at Boro. Not glad about the game or how we were treated, how many old bill with video cameras last night? And Hennesey what a disaster that man was. Glad to see Brighton's true crowd became apparent 12k.

It wasn't though, was it? We started with only four changes from the previous game, albeit Souaré was an enforced further change fairly early on. The tactics, especially in the first half, were abysmal, as was the defending throughout. Add that to a team that, Sako excepted, couldn't be bothered and the outcome was inevitable. With one notable exception, those that played last night should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves and that performance, which 2,000 Palace supporters paid £25 for.

It was a poor performance, but to be honest I couldn’t fault the effort of the players, looking round man for man, they gave their all, it was just poor disjointed performance from a makeshift team. So having traveled down there and paid the money, one thing I can say is I didn’t come away angry at any lack of effort from the players.Especially Sako, it’s a shame benteke doesn’t put in the same amount of graft

Only certainty last night was nobody wanted a draw so backing both at 6/1 paid a tidy 5/2? Must be difficult for players to motivate themselves in an empty stadium with a manager putting out a really disjointed side Don’t know Kaikai position but not a centre forward and would have had same impact if stayed on the bench Think he’s modelling himself on benteke

The truth is the FA Cup doesn't carry the weight it used to.

Things have changed, and what the top clubs dictate as important as a trickle down effect.

Its not to say that the FA Cup isn't important. But we have to accept that its lower down on our list of priorities. We haven't secured our survival yet.

Everything else is of secondary importance.

Sounds like Ashton Gate Mark 2 with only Sako holding his head up. Surely this guy merits more gametime ?Surprised that the VAR wasn't used at least 10 times for mistaken identity on the rest to check that they were professional PL footballers. No surprise on the result.

The Daily Mail's top slob Martin Samuel letting-rip on the CPFC players after the game.

Petty protests show how hard refs have it

MARTIN SAMUEL

ANYONE still unaware of what match officials are up against in football need only watch the moments after the final whistle at the Amex Stadium.

Several Crystal Palace players, Yohan Cabaye, Bakary Sako, Wayne Hennessey, still went to referee Andre Marriner to protest about Brighton's winning goal.

Despite the fact they would have known that, this time, the official could be certain his call was correct.

'I'll prove it to you,' Marriner appeared to be saying, in defence of his judgment. He shouldn't have to prove it to anybody. Who do they think they are, these clowns, that they know more than an assistant referee with access to every conceivable angle? At his studio outside London, video assistant referee Neil Swarbrick would have studied the footage and informed Marriner there was no obvious mistake. If anything, scorer Glenn Murray was trying to get his arm out of the way. Most importantly, he succeeded.

Yet it still wasn't enough for Palace. Instead of taking responsibility for failing to hold on to their lead, they sought to place blame on that most familiar of scapegoats: the referee. And while the video referee process may be far from perfect, it did its job last night. It confirmed Marriner's correct calls, did not interfere with the flow of the game and exposed the childishness of the modern professional. The latter was an unexpected bonus. Palace's players looked small, self-indulgent and petty in their protests against all evidence. Grown-ups 1 Toddlers 0. A good win, that.

He’s got a point to be fair. Footballers arguing with referees is bad enough but to do it after the ref has had the benefit of TV replays is embarrassing.

I don’t remember is throwing away our lead though...

The players were right. The foul which led to the goal should have been awarded to Palace when the Brighton player held the Palace p,ayer's shirt.

Nothing to do with VAR, everything to do with poor reffing.

Durham Tees Valley I think not Middlesbrough. I am sure it used to be called Stockton.

Actually the fact that the goal stood did not prove that the decision was correct. It only shows that it wasn't blatantly wrong.

The article is the usual anti-Palace bollocks, the journalist has no idea what was said to or by the ref nor has he a clue what losing a cup-tie to a goal in the 86th minute feels like.

Would he have written the same if it were Manchester United? Doesn't Rooney do this every time he plays? What did City do when we won a pen against them?

Pathetic.
