Looked rusty again yesterday and was lucky not to see red. However he was excellent before the injury so the more game time he has the better he will be. And we have AWB waiting in the wings to push him next season.

AWB should be our 1st choice rb next season not back up to ward.

I think Ward needs a bit more time to get back up to speed. I remember James McArthur looked a bit off the pace when he came back from injury but soon found his form.

As would anyone be. I think that criticism at this stage of his return is akin to suggestion that Sorloth isn’t up to PL standard when he’s not been given the games. Time is needed and I believe Roy is right to get his more experienced RB up to full match fitness so that he has the choice.

Ward has had some good games this season, but for me AWB should start ahead of him. Ward probably has better positional sense and is perhaps stronger (?) but he has really struggled against quick wingers and while Bissaka is prone to making a mistake he is often quick enough to make amends. Additionally, AWB used to be a winger and that shows in his attacking play. While Ward can be a bit ponderous in the opposition's half Bissaka tends to drive towards the box and can beat his man.

I really hope AWB comes back in against Leicester and makes the shirt his own ahead of next season.

Especially if Leicester play Gray on the wing. He is pretty quick although Kelly did a good job on him in the away fixture

J Ward like D Delaney have been great servant's to palace and were 2 of the players that brought us to the Premier league 5 years ago and also gave great performances to keep us in the Premiership...
but it is time to move on and Joel has been exposed big time for pace against Watford and I also remember away to Man Utd when he was "skinned" by Rashford after 4 minutes into the game.

PVA

24th October has a s*** game against Bristol City everyone wants rid. Gets injured on the 28th against Spammers and some fans on here are actually happy about it.

Now seen as an integral part of the first team.

Ward has been brought in for his positional awareness and his experience going into the last few games of the season. He got caught out in the Brighton game, but other that I thought he had a good game including being in the right place at the right time when the ball was just about to fall to Murray's feet for a certain equaliser. Watford he got caught out by a tricky winger, this could happen to any full back and would also have a lot to do with him just coming back into the team and being rusty.

I to believe Wan-Bissaka should be our first choice RB but not until next season.

I agree. I think Roy's been picking Ward since he's returned from injury as he's the more experienced player but AWB should be first choice from pre-season onwards.

I believe they have different qualities and should be picked according to the opposition. Against Leicester, AWB should definitely start if they are playing a winger. If they play a wingback, then happy for Ward to start.
