The problem with premier palace fans summed up in one post.

Look, recruitment was poor this season both in the coaching staff and players. We need to reflect and move on.

But...survival in championship, followed by promotion, a cup final and a prolonged period in the premier league suggests he has done pretty well to be fair.

A minority tell me I shouldn't look back at the past. Sorry, I can't help it. I remember the euphoria of hillsborough being quickly replaced with anxiety as there was a real chance we'd fold. What cpfc2010 have done since is nothing short of remarkable and I for one am grateful, even if this is the year we drop out the top flight for a bit.

me and you should book a room

Wasn't it was just press speculation? I suspect he had no intention of coming to us as he has a good deal at Burnley. He is a very good fit there. However, if a genuinely bigger club came a-calling..?

Good or bad at least we still have a football club...without him we wouldn’t.
So let’s stop giving him a hard time,I’m sure that he will have reflected and learnt from some of his decisions....and like us all will have moved on ...stop the negativity it is not helpful to giving him stick.

Maybe 50/50 on here and the BBS, but it's often the usual suspects that criticise on here and I'm sure that in 'real life' the majority of true fans who've supported Palace for some years will hugely appreciate everything that Steve Parish has achieved. I know I do.

I don't remember ever having said we aren't appreciative. As has been said many times, 5 great years followed by 2 of repeated, obvious blunders. Sometimes something becomes too big or tricky for someone who hasn't spent their life thinking like they have. It's not easy, although some of said mistakes are pretty obvious, and next summer is only going to get harder. Time to just carry out Roy's sand Freedman's advice/knowledge.

He has made very few mistakes during his tenure albeit that a couple might cost us our Premiership standing.
We all make mistakes though but in his position they are magnified somewhat.
His mistakes in my mind are exetnding Pardew's contract instead of either sacking him or making him earn a new one and the striker issue this season.
Other than that he is a top bloke who loves CPFC and is doing his best which is a pretty good best in my eyes.

The mistakes i am aware of are not having a suitable left back to replace soaure; and not buying a striker this summer.

For my part he should not have sacked pardews at all. That was another mistake.

Are people still deluding themselves into thinking that Pardew wouldn't have had us relegated? He had been total toilet for a good year FFS.

He was excellent in his first year with a full squad. He was then miraculously "toilet" from Xmas 2015 as (presumably coincidentally?) most of our squad took a hobble into the treatment room - although still got us to the cup final despite playing the second XI; and from September 2016 (remember we started really well - stoke?) It was Pappas injury just after the window had closed that left us unbalanced and playing people out of position that caused a catastrophic fall in form...sorry because pardew was suddenly "tiolet".

The manager only informs player purchase; it is the management that decides and does the wheeler dealing.

While pardew oversaw training where I accept there were too many injuries, you can't put the whole blame for the injuries on him. He had to do the best with what he had. Full squad and he did very well. Better than Woy who has a better team than pardew had.

Thus, interested in where the "delusion" lies. Perhaps you could expand.

Better than Roy? He's been here 5 mins. Not even long enough for an appraisal or pass a probationary period.

You said that sacking him was a "mistake". It wasn't.

I find this to be the case as well. A few ‘real life’ Palace fans I know won’t come on here or social media Palace pages because of the undue stick that Parish and the board get and it winds them up.
