This is the same as those who confuse not being happy with how things are runand going with somehow 'hating' Steve Parish. I don't care for his twitter account, karaoke or water boarding videos or Ferrari or aims of Dragons Den, even though he has no mass market or business to consumer experience outside of cpfc. So I don't care about his image, which he holds very dear. But I do care about how decisions are made and the way we've predictably been heading because of unnecessary and risky decisions.

Suspect SP's future videos of this type might be of a different nature after Tues performance. In relation to our 1st season back in the Prem under Ollie we did look a lot worse and were also humiliated at BC again but does the squad have the ability to grind out the required wins like that squad, who actually won 5 on the spin I think ? Time will tell as we have a good run of games up to Xmas and our run in is nothing like the horrorshow of last season. COYP !!

But we cannot rely on the 'Pulis effect' of course and Benteke has hardly been impressive this season. It just shows our plight when we are heavily relying on a striker who has been distinctly average.

Pullis didn’t really pull it around until he bought Dann and McCarthur in the January window. He also bought WH then but thankfully never selected him ( one big plus for Roy is that he has come to the same conclusion !) The winning run of 5 games came afterwards.

I agree about Benteke and I have been a massive critic but even I have admitted that he will score goals in the right set up just as his record shows. He was never going to be any good under FdBs tactics but Roy has more idea how to get the best out of him just as Sam did.

This is the reality of our situation - we’ve done it before and we can do it again - enough of the doom and gloom!!

Pulis joined us a week before the end of November 2013. All his January signings were made on deadline day; Hennessey, Puncheon, Dann, Ledley and Ince (on loan). McArthur didn't join until the beginning of September 2014, after Pulis had left. Before the January deadline Pulis had already won five and drawn one, so he was already "pulling it around" well before any signings were made.

What we did four years ago has no more bearing on our current position that last Saturday's lottery numbers have on this Saturday's. We've done it before three times now, but that doesn't mean we won't fail the forth time.

You’re right about McCarthur - I got him mixed with Ledley - but you are wrong about Puncheon - he joined on loan in September whereas Pullis signed on 23rd November. Pullis run of 5 wins on the trot came after the new signings showing just what a difference they made.
What happened 4 years ago just shows what can be done and Roy has even more time now plus a better team. The analogy with Lotto numbers just doesn’t work!
Today’s 2nd half performance showed the continued improvement under Roy and I’m confident we will stay up for the fourth time despite the strange pessimism of some supporters.

Punch was on loan, but was signed permanent by Pulis.
I think this freed up a loan spot for Ince.
Signing Hennessy was a master stroke by Pulis because it put pressure on Speroni to perform.
Which he did,Wayne played in the final game at Fulham.

''Don't bother with the first 3 games, maybe 9 or 15'' might be another.

Yes we can look at the last nine games and be gloom or look at our recent PL form and see positivity. I know which I'll look at. Obviously I know which you'll look at.

Ignore the progress under Roy and wish that Pulis was available to save us. That's up to you. But personally I'm gonna be upbeat as the first XI actually have been playing well regardless of the obvious striker issues.

And yes Willio it's is likely we won't win today. But i still see many many winnerable games coming up.

I also envisage it getting worse before it gets better but looking at fixtures still to come and our fit first XI I truely do not expect us to be relegated. Still think there was more chance of that in all the other years than this year. Call me a fool, but the quality is there and we have the right type of manager for the job.

Obviously this is the wrong place to find fans that can see the progress being made. Let's face it all season we're gonna have to live with the start we've had, but be fair we should also look at recent results/commitment from our starting XI.

Good for you Goldfinger. excellent and POSITIVE post, just what we need at present.

Injuries permitting, we should start picking up a few points nicely between now and Christmas. I think we would've beaten West Ham with Sakho at the back, and maybe Newcastle with Benteke up top (as he's a useful defender of set pieces). We're coming into a batch of interesting games with our form improving.

I'll be significantly less confident if one of Zaha, Sakho, Benteke, Luka, Cabaye or TFM sustains any kind of enduring injury. (Appreciate Benteke's out -- I'm hoping we might see him v Everton).

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Agree. I think if Sakho did play v West Ham we're likely to edge that. Also agree on Newcastle. Dann and Tomkins don't seem to exude confidence and it spreads across the back. At least Hennessy isn't adding to the nerves and panic.

What is a concern is vs a back 4 we're finding it much harder to threaten than vs a back 3. Vs a 5 in midfield we match the battles, find space behind the wing backs and players can enter the box with momentum. Vs 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 there aren't the vulnerabilities or spaces and we're hitting a brick wall. You never know, maybe a Palace special at Wembley v Spurs and their back 3.

What we really need is 2 back to back wins because our form and consistency and reliability throughout the team isn't up to standard for consistent mid table form right now. We're going to need a Pardew run followed by a so so run rather than fly, then sink type streaky stuff that with said injuries that can blow up pretty badly.

So every time Parish repeats obvious errors nobody in the football world makes and takes liberties in the league with it we should appreciate we're not <insert worst tinpot team of the moment> when in fact we've had a great opportunity to make our stay a very long one without that much grief? Why else sign Sakho?

We've had 8 months to target and sign a striker and a keeper. The rest of the planet does it. Whatever 'goes on inside the offices' should be enough to solve that in 8 months.

This sense of entitlement? What, wanting more than 1 win and goal scored by one of our players in about 15 league games? That's a sense of entitlement is it? To have a striker?

This is one of the best times to be a Palace fan? Sorry but the last few months watching this predictably unfold, reading Parish's arrogant tweets suggesting there's nothing to worry about is anything but good. These issues are not surprises, but a player getting injured when we have no cover apparently is to an 18% shareholder who makes every decision it seems with very little appreciation for what can and does happen. I say that because I presume the ex Palace pros pipe up at some point.

'We are alive.' Yes the sun has come today as well. Yippee.

'It doesn't get much better.' I'm afraid it does, has, and if negligent risks weren't taken and some actual planning with people who know what they're doing was done, it would stay at a good level and not losing without scoring for months.

You bet we stay up? How much? £10? £1,000? £10,000? Everything you possibly can. What are you basing this on? Tactical analysis of 13 players v squads of 25 or 20 prem players with goals throughout their front players or blind faith?

rudi, I think it's pretty obvious you do not like SP. I get it - I even agree with some of your arguments, but why bother commenting on any positive post with your repeated negative views.

Move on
