Agree, 1. I doubt RH looks at HOL. 2. If he did I doubt he'd be overly offended. 3. the O/P was just have a bit of fun at Rh expense (may not be particularly funny but hardly a hanging offence)
Its not about the PC brigade and being a nanny state or even if Roy himself ever logs on the the HOL to see it. Simple fact is its a tired joke that probably been hammered at Roy for most of his 70yrs. I'm all for being funny and having a bit of "banter" but surely that can be done without stooping to the level of the Sun newspaper of all things? And there's a difference between having a laugh at someones expense and outright mocking them for physical attributes the can't control. I dont see why banter cant be a little more intelligent than simply replacing r's with w's in a thread title?

Oh I see, So you're ok with 'banter' as long as it fits in with your extremely high interlectual standards and definitely doesn't involve anything ever printed by that nasty working class tabloid newspaper The Sun.

Well well well, seem to have upset some of the more sensitive and politically correct element on here. So it's best that we don't mention our hero's names on here in case we upset people, mine was Johnny Budgie Byrne (OMG was that something to do with his weight?). If you read the opening post I have called him Sir Woy and commended him for his excellent tactics. He a top manager as proved by his past record in my books. I will still refer to him as Sir Woy, and I really don't give a monkeys about the comments as I know that it's meant in a most respectful and positive way, just like my hero Budgie. Have fun and keep smiling.

I've got red hair - though tinted now through natural grey highlights..!! But the point is I don't take or think of any offence against me or my fellow red heads. The OP was praising Roy, I'm sure he meant no offence.. We've had a great weekend - lets focus on the positives and look forward to beating Newcastle this weekend and getting our season up and running. COYP

Ok, if you had cancer, you wouldn’t mind people taking the piss out of you. Wow, I've seen you trolling on here many a time but this takes the biscuit, you've genuinely angered me by attempting to promote your own self righteousness by referencing a sensitive issue for myself and I'm sure many others, comparing it to a minor speech impediment. Came on to this post hoping to read a bit about our manager and the wonderful job the entire team did on Saturday, didn't even particularly notice the thread title! But now I remember that even something as glorious as us contextually beating Chelsea and looking damn good doing so can stop some! I'm gonna change the tune hopefully, I didn't want to write Roy off and thought we need to at least perform at Newcastle, but he has exceeded expectations already and I witnessed Palace play some of our best football in years on Saturday! COYP!!!!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Painter mate, banter about Ethnicity, religion etc to stir a quick laugh is not cool, I walk away mid conversations during these convos..........And shouldn't, but just luv they way you was shut down after a Shakespeare-esk type message.......That was cold blooded murder mate! The OP probably just posted that from still being on cloud nine, I don't know I can't speak for him.............But me personally, not right yes, but don't think its that bad............probably everyone of us has said it at one stage along with trying to mimic a Jamaican or Nigerian accent...... Making intentional fun with meaning, no.............but just a quick one time mistake through years of media conditioning, he gets a squeeze Poor fella needs a hard hat....

The real problem, isn't what type of humour school boy or not but the wasted energy of the political correctness patrollers or the hurt carers. The danger of this outrage phenomenon is that, in the process of policing every sensitive subject, we lose comedy itself — one of the only tools we have to grapple with our testiest issues. Humour is an entryway unlike any other for talking out things we're too afraid, too uncomfortable or too pained to tackle head on. If we can't joke about issues such as ethnicity, sexuality, disability, class, politics, pain and death, we may never get through them or find ways to heal Creasing......Brilliant......I'm nominating you for a MOBO award mate
