Unless we get thrashed, I don't expect (or want) FDB to be sacked. The players are good enough to pick up results, Sam was given time and I fully expect FDB to be given time too. Difference is Sam needed the time as he had a team that had barely won for a year and needed to be turned round so it would take time and we would have to wait. Frank has taken no time at all to dismantle the spirit and confidence of a squad that as you say has players good enough to get results.

"Spirit and confidence" comes from winning matches but let's not forget FDB took over a team that had lost 4 out of 5 games at the end of the season. When one sees the word "Dismantle" this wreaks of getting rid of decent players en-masse etc but this hasn't happened. What FDB has done is to revert to a back three which is hardly unique in football. I accept we have lost 3 games but we lost games when Allardyce joined when we had a more traditional back four. Lots of hysteria on here - maybe it will die down if/when we get something from the Burnley game !

So you don't think having our arses handed to us by Huddersfield 0-3 on opening day, then losing to Swansea 0-2 is a bad thing. The point your missing is that AP had almost, but not quite, f***ed us up beyond redemption. BFS came in (I have laboured this point over and over again but it doesn't seem to register) and stated categorically that the squad was "not Fit Enough" and would take at least until "February or March to reap the benefits of his methods" true to his word, we beat Arsenal Chelsea and Liverpool and gained safety by a comfortable(ish) margin. My point is that we were fine playing the way we were, there is/was no need to go to 3-4-3 we are not Chelsea, even Inter game the elbow. As a manager he has taken us backwards. I know it's only 3 games, but it's the manner and the playing style in those defeats that concerns me. Against Huddersfield in the second half I was reminded of a game under Peter Taylor were McAnuff looked at the bench and shrugged his shoulders, clearly not having a clue how and where he was supposed to be playing. That said, I do believe he is a genuine guy who believes in himself, but he has to, for the love of God and my sanity ditch the three at the back bo11ocks or he will be sacked if we lose to Burnley. As a foot note, under BFS I think we would already be on 7 points.

As mentioned by people on previous posts we have been papering over the cracks at home for ages now.

It's a result based business and we had a terrible start under Holloway but pulis needed to average something like 1.3 pts per match hence winning him manager of the year. If it's not working now and Sunday will be a big indication. He has had 2 weeks to work on a 433 that our players are more comfortable with. We can't expect to beat the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea every season, making up for our short falls at home. I want FDB to succeed but I think parish has his mind 85% made up imo. When talk of takeover rumours, parish was quick to dismiss on social media. Now a manager that him and the board took 6 weeks to appoint, hasn't been publicly backed by the person that handed him a 3 year deal is a disgrace imo. When you out say publicly backed, are you talking some statement that guarantees Frank in the job regardless? Are you also saying you don't agree with what Parish said regarding it 'being a results business, Frank knows that, and it you don't get results, well...' Earlier in the thread you posted: 'Parish should of come out and backed him. Writing on the wall unfortunately.' My reply was: You could argue he has backed him, but what Frank wants to do takes 3 Windows so Frank now has 7 CB's, a few players he's deluding himself can play wing back and a fvck up from parish or both of them for only 1 striker. The problems all stem from rushing and formation we can't play. If anyone thinks £40 mil can achieve that they're lying or thick. In fact it would've been £45 mil if we did sign Niasse. So is it financially or publicly in a position where the stakes are high and the show has been pretty far from promising, because I'm at a loss what Parish should specifically do right now or should've done. The planning, strategy and organisation of football affairs leaves a lot to be desired but with regards to 'backing Frank', I'm not sure what this is really saying. It's like that other lazy and poorly worded claim of 'lack' of funds, which there isn't, so is again more bs.

Fine he prefers possession based passing game so do it gradually over a period of time when you can bring in players and asses current ones. The more i think about it the more I'm convinced he's actually useless, his inherited a squad that already tried this last season and quite obviously couldn't, then had bfs lay down a blue print of what works with this squad, his came in completely ignored it and tried to change overnight. He deserves to be under pressure, it's self inflicted.

You say to media that reports of 1 game to save the job are nonsense, we had a meeting but how the club going forward, we both agree and frank will have time, otherwise why give him a 3 yr deal.

As for Hoddle when was the last time he had a managerial position. Hoddle is a good talker on TV but actually getting working on the pitch is another thing. People have short memories not so long ago it was Pardew's head everybody was calling for, and look how long that took before he was replaced. Steve Parish said not so long ago they want to try something new 3 games is nothing. how long did it take Wenger, at Arsenal ,Ferguson at Man U before they got it right. My post was replying to willow about it's just 'new fans' that want success too soon. When you chairman not denying constant media rumours about the manager future. I guess his mind made up. I didn't mention about financial backing in this thread.

Allardyce has said that it was Sakho who sorted the defence and aside from the Liverpool game it did appear that he was a big part of our survival...and now he's back! Secondly Zaha is such a massive part of our team that we are a shadow of ourselves without him. With both those players in the first XI I think we may have scraped a draw against Liverpool and got something against Swansea irrespective of the formation. Onwards!

4 games seems harsh. But in a league of very tight margins it's still 10% of the season and a run of matches where I would have expected us to pick up 7 of the 40 points target for survival. Given that we have no points, no goals, hardly any shots, and look totally uncomfortable defending plus a run of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea coming up there's a very good chance we could be cut adrift before 10 games have been played. Burnley away is now a must win. I hope he has a change of fortune like we did with Freedman in 2012/13. If we don't, he has to go.
