I just hope that FdB is sensible/flexible enough to recognise that, whatever he hopes to achieve long-term, he needs to pick a team and tactics to get results right now. If he's not prepared to do that to save his job/reputation then he's a bloody fool. We won't need another manager if the current one accepts what he needs to do, so let's just hope that he does it, starting Sunday. And therein lies the problem. FDB was appointed to deliver a different style of football / employ different tactics to those that we have been used to. After just 3 games it seems that both at Board level and amongst the majority of supporters ( and I include myself in that ), we have little or no confidence in him and his methods. So I think with FDB it's only a matter of time. I'm not hearing too much public support for him from either the players or Steve Parish. And we find ourselves going into our 5th. consecutive season in the Premier League with a manager that nobody really wants, only one recognised striker and little genuine competition for the goalkeeping position currently occupied by a player widely considered to be one of the weakest at this level. Thanks for delivering Sakho Steve, but you are presiding over a mess at the moment.

And I've no problem with that, provided it's done over time and by patiently building a squad capable of achieving it. He's been given three years, so it doesn't need to be done in three months.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I doubt Jordan is p1ssing himself but he'll take some comfort in knowing that he's more likely to be right on de Boer than parish was. I'm more right than parish was and I can assure you I'm not p1ssing myself but very concerned. The 2 main doubt raisers on here, myself and Bexleydave, muted because we didn't believe enough. So that means nearly everyone on here was wrong as well. Now we need to see if he's neither a stubborn fool or a shyte manager at this level and give him a couple of games maybe for proof. Something nobody was willing to consider a few months back. It's still only 3 games though....you cant claim bragging rights just yet...he needs at least 10 games in my eyes; otherwise it's wrong to call him a failure just yet if he hasnt been given a fair crack of the whip.

You can add to that list Newcastle and Huddersfield, even the weed have got a point. Something is wrong and has been for sometime at boardroom level, we constantly start the season with gaps in the squad, and obvious positions not filled with premiership quality. In 5 seasons in the prem we've had 5 managers, if we lose to Burnley my guess is it will be six. It's not so much the 4 games and no points that is the problem for me, it's the lack of goals, and the way we have been beaten at a canter by Swansea and Huddersfield at home. If we lose to Burnley I think he'll be gone by Monday evening. But the main gist of what I'm saying is 5 managers in 5 seasons, and that reeks to me of naivety, and piss poor leadership from the boardroom. I understand what you're saying and agree to a certain extent. We all want stability but is it possible in todays game, the emphasis on instant success and remaining in the prem. You get a young ambitious manager and he uses you as a stepping stone, a couple of bad results and everyone is counting down the days untill he's sacked. Was only a couple of years ago De boer and bilic were the 2 most sought after managers in Europe, now the two most likely to be sacked next. Look at Burnley, even tho it's hypothetical, I doubt very much they would be in as strong a position as they would be if they sacked dyche after relegation. I still belive pardew was a great match for our club, ex player, British, experience but still young and ambitious. Can't belive he was stupid enough to not identify the left back, then try to change our play so drastically.

My position was more silva, Pellegrino, Dyche well before Frank and if Frank was to work his changes would need to be gradual. I didn't say he wouldn't succeed. I said he should take things steadily and the others stood more of a chance of success than Frank, slow or not. I agree on more time. 10 games I'm not sure on. Depends on what happens. I hope it works out, but I doubt it will persisting with 3 CB's which will possibly confirm the sack if there's any doubt.

I'd say his already failed but could save himself and a bit of face if he goes completely against his philosophy and reverts back to a more direct approach, if he can adapt then fair play but he would of still failed with his intentions of turning us into Barcelona over night.

The system he wants to play is a defensive and uncreative one. We have played 7 games under Frank and scored just 4 goals 2 in one game. The 2 home league games we have played both 1st halves in 3-4-3 were pathetic. It was only when we switched we looked more dangerous. If Frank cant see this he is seriously dumb
