Underwhelmed and i guess the dream of Sakho joining and captaining the team is finished I suspect we were hoping a sale or 2 enabled us to match the demand of instalments between £20-£25 mil before add one. Wages make you wonder though.

Shows how far we have come that someone is underwhelmed at signing a French international. Not the one we wanted, but if this allows TFM to play RB and gets Joel Ward finally out of our team then I am on board 100% He might still play him left back with 2 left backs on the bench. 3 when Riedewald comes back.

I don't buy this. I think we are just trying to frighten Liverpool

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Mangala Agreed ' by kenbarr This post has been merged from a topic called 'sakho and mangala ' by Guntrisoft maybe dann or tomkins will be sold, this would free funds and maybe just maybe fdb or parish have realised that we actually need 2 big centre halfs who can actually defend, really feel we need 2 quality cb and if we got these 2 plus rb and new option as a cf, it could actually be a turning point ,

Its a fully working, top French international that can play right now...not once he has made a recovery, not when he is fit...right now... Imagine if we got both though...

I think it is fair to assume - given his current wages - that Sakho wanted similar money anyway and for £12m more in fees. Mangala wouldn't have been my first choice but actually did well at Valencia. Played consistently. Didn't make many errors, is good on the ball, strong, physical, likes to get himself in the way. He's decent in the air (won more in the air per game than Sakho last season for example). I would say that discipline is a bit of an issue. He picks up yellows fairly regularly and he gives away a lot of freekicks. Which given our ability to defend set pieces is a worry.
