It is in all our interests that Freedman makes a positive contribution in his new role to the extent that he is of great help to FDB and that FDB proves a real success. This is the scenario that I want.

This might just be a very good idea. FDB has stated he has always worked with a sporting director of football. Only Burnley Man Utd, Spurs Newcastle The Weed and West Ham operate without one in the Premiership (Huddersfield have a Head of Football Operations). Dougie has proved he can unearth players with potential.

We've needed this for a long time and he is ideal. Shame about grassgate.

Id imagine FdB has realized he needs help finding gems as he doesn't have the budget here, least this summer anyway. Parish knows full well back in the day if dougie was good at one thing it was buying players, hes out of work, probably a similar age and character (both quite serious types, might get along well). I think it could work very well.
