I still live in hope that Sako can come good. The first few games he played for us he looked like a tremendous signing so there's obviously some ability in there somewhere, maybe FDB can sort him out, who knows?

Agreed...first few games he was on fire...but it was seemingly a false dawn. He now simply relies on trying to shot from improbable angles on teh off chance he'll connect sweatly and one will go in...other than his shot he offers very little else to the team. If FdB wants a pressing game...Sako is not the player he is looking for..

Agree with Alan here.
He has never scored for us and never assisted which is an absolute joke for a central midfielder.
He has played 1665 minutes for us according to Transfermarkt

Serious waste of money and when i see him coming on for palace it actually depresses me.

Scoring isnt the be all and end all of a player's worth to a team...unless of course he's a striker. Seeing that he has spent most of his time coming on in lost situations and in a defensive mid role...I'd suggest that your reasoning (albeit one you're entitled to) explains our difference of opinion on him compared with others that dont get the same stick.

He's probably a bit peed off because he was hoping for somebody that Liverpool could actually manage to beat

No. Mutch gives the ball away needlessly on a constant basis. He either makes errant passes, or dribbles into trouble. There was one game I remember him dribbling past a few midfielders / defenders and I was impressed, only for him to then take a shot from 30 yards out that was 10 feet over the crossbar.

You may not remember how atrocious he is, because it has been so long since anyone let him near first team football.

I think we've been watching diff players...but hey ho. I certainly remember the incident you refer to...as it was one of the few so it stuck out.

Lee and Sako on the other hand...its the other way round lol

Still, each to their own. Hopefully none of the 3 will be around for long.

At the end of the day it just hasn't worked out for Mutch at our club, indeed he has seen much better days football wise than he has seen with us and elsewhere in recent times. He needs to get his career back on track - nothing against him, I wish him well.

...and that's the point...the fact you dont notice him...doesnt mean he's played badly..he's a 'water carrier' breaks up play and moves the ball on...very unfussy just the job that the likes of McArthur/Matic/Kante do (although admittedly not to their level).

He does the simple things well...it just seems to be the in thing to be seen to slate him...seemingly because others do.

Compare him to the likes of Sako and Lee who continually turn possession over and he's worth far more to the team than either of them.

Well you obviously like him,I'm not slating him at all, just cannot remember him doing anything.

As for him being a "water carrier" both Alan and Sam agree with you that McArthur is better.

Has not worked out for him,to my knowledge did not do much at Reading and Frank does not appear to rate him.

Will either go out on loan to Specsavers FC or see out his nice contract.

I don't like him...just get frustrated with people maligning players when there are worse in the squad...as I said in my original post...we've outgrown him as a club and he needs to move on...

Kaikai is injured, so that's why he's not going.
Not sure about Luke Dreher and Hiram Boateng though.

Not sure what the fuse is over our weak squad, of course it could be improved but look at all the fairly recent improvements we've made.

Looks like on the striker front and hopefully this will be addressed.

Really pleased so many young players will be given a proper look at. So what if most of them aren't good enough, imagine how happy we'd be if even just one is brought through.

Lets not kid our selves that this will be our Prem squad, no doubt in my mind a couple will change.

Goalkeepers
Wayne Hennessey,
Julian Speroni,
Matthew Funnell

Defenders
Scott Dann,
Damien Delaney,
James Tomkins,
Martin Kelly,
Joel Ward,
Jeffrey Schlupp,
Patrick van Aanholt,
Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Midfielders
Yohan Cabaye,
Jason Puncheon,
Luka Milivojevic,
James McArthur,
Ruben Loftus-Cheek,
Wilfried Zaha,
Andros Townsend,
Bakary Sako,
Chung-yong Lee,
Jonathan Williams,
Nya Kirby - future great player potentially

Strikers
Christian Benteke,
Keshi Anderson,
Freddie Ladapo

strange looking at a squad announcement with no Ledley, happy at not seeing Campbell and Fryers BUT still seeing Bakary Sako, Chung-yong Lee and apologies for this Keshi Anderson, Freddie Ladapo are not premiership standard.

How can you say this when neither has played in the premier league before?I know that neither had consistent loan spells but they are both young and could have improved a lot from their time away. Inconsistent loan spells do not always mean that a player will be poor back at their parent club.
