These clips show how much more composed on the ball than all of our centre backs.

When you play 3 at the back you need a defender, prepared to bring the ball out from the back. Looking at his style of play of whoscored. Likes to dribble

Telegraph- Arsenal reject 16m bid but expect compromise in the next few days on a fee. Rather than a loan move. Doesn't this just prove that clubs know we need players in certain positions, so, they up the price coz they know we will in the end pay it.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I agree, like last season with Benteke, Liverpool wanted 30m and despite taking over 3 weeks to complete the deal it still cost us 27.5m but with the add ons it will cost 30m. I just think he's a bit slack-jawed and dozy, he reminds me of a richer man's Joel Ward, in the sense that they both seem completely unrepentant/unaware of any mistake they make. Perhaps "keeping composure" is good in a defender but I find it bloody frustrating. Even in today's market, £20mil is ludicrous.

Arsenal fans will go oh he's crap but their one of the most fickle fans about. While it's expensive, is walker worth 50m. 20m is the new 8 to 10m , which chambers is worth.

Comparing these ratings: [Link] As I've already said, his resale is a major factor. We get three good years out of him & we'd at least get our money back if not turn a profit. Three good years out of Sakho & you'd get half what we paid at best. Chambers' wages would probably be considerably less too so the overall difference could be massive - a three year deal for Sakho would be around £48m but Chambers nearer £30m.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

Suppose in each of those three years we finished three places higher up than we would have done with someone else? That's about £15m in prize money alone. Of course, you'll never know whether we would have finished there or not and there's always the argument that nobody is irreplaceable.
