I think that Labour will financially mismanage the NHS, but in doing so provide shorter waiting less, better coverage, health care etc.

Largely because most of the people who vote Labour are also locked into using the NHS. Its a tradition, even of Communism, that provision of health care to its population, tends to exceed its economic rivals.

That's not a defence of say Soviet Communism - but a reasonable point, that compared to similar economic scaled countries and regional countries, the scope and provision of health care was above norm.

Of course its not because they're better ethically or morally, but its an effective 'bribe' to the people to tolerate them. Similarly you see the same kind of rise in literacy and educational achievement.

A fair assessment.
The irony is that this kind of pay tomorrow policy will actually impact negatively on the generation that believe Labour will give them 'hope'.

Sorry mate but I disagree. It was all about fox hunting. Nothing to do with austerity or Brexit. The whole country was influenced purely by one subject. Blowing trumpets at frightened foxes.

I wouldn't dismiss that entirely. Its astonishing just how many people hate fox hunting. Having grown up around the countryside the only people I've met who don't mind fox hunting seem to be Chicken Farmers and people involved with fox hunting.

I also suspect that those who do would vote Conservative anyway, but it'd be an issue with those who might not be decided.

Its an odd situation, people in the country don't necessarily like foxes, but they really don't like groups of mounted people, with packs of hounds, steaming across their land after them.

Have you seen voter demographics? Largest group of Tories are retired. They've got spare time.
Interestingly I read that the Tory vote will go down 2% a year because their older voters are leaving this mortal coil.

Perhaps they could arrange a dirty protest. Shouldn't be too difficult for the incontinent.

I think its a realistic criticism of labour and the conservatives, is that they survive by peddling a deception to the people on public services. One claims you can still have the same level of service and pay less in tax. The other that you can have better levels of service, and not pay extra tax for it.

There is always a consequence to change. We're just a nation that likes to believe that they're entirely avoidable.

And the student base will start working.

The Tory vote will diminish once Corbyn resigns. I fully expect to be voting Labour as soon as he goes.

Nick, take a joke. Problem with Left-wingers is that they can give enough out but as soon as someone jokes back it is a serious issue. Get off your high horse.

I was using it as a fatuous way to agree with npn, but my Mrs did get annoyed at me when I told her that whilst I am opposed to fox hunting, in that I don't think it ought to be necessary as a sport, it wasn't anywhere near important enough to influence my vote. That's just a side story and a little insight into my thrilling life.

One of the weaknesses of democracy is that it promotes lying.
It's why so many former lawyers are politicians.....Intelligent liars are always in demand.

It's never a good thing.

It's also ironic that those who say they are not fascistic want to prevent the democratic right to demonstrate.

Bang on

Calling a protest a 'day of rage' is so close to incitement that it isn't only wrong it's unethical....the idiots who feed off these protests hardly need more encouragement to damage businesses and property.

Whoever called it that is an idiot and I hope there are consequences for them.

Even if it had been called "Day of Peace" I wouldn't put it past the protesters to spit on people and egg their cars.

Of course, but thoughts make a difference. Some idiot has just been arrested for making a Facebook post.

Whoever came up with this title is a disgrace.
