Never heard of this keeper. Is he good and better then Wayne? Was in line to replace DeGea at United in 2015 when Madrid came calling. That didn't happen and he went to Barcelona as their number two. He's very comfortable on the ball and there's many clips [Link] of him mugging attackers with step overs before clearing. His distribution looks very good and reminds me of Schmeichel setting attacks in play by finding the runners. 2014 World Cup he was the Dutch number one and they came third. 2017 he was the Barca keeper for their Copa del Rey cup run which they won. I'd be over the moon if we signed or loaned him and I'd say anyone who wasn't happy with this signing is balmy... Edited by Goldfiinger (15 Jul 2017 6.44pm)

I'm really not interested in how many step overs he can do, is he any good at keeping the ball out of the onion bag?

Well the Dutch got third at the World Cup with him in between the sticks and Barca won the cup with him. His footballing skills are of interest to me as it does allow him to start counter attacks with good ball placement but yes the step overs are somewhat showboating. Personally think it'd be a huge coup if we could sign Cillessen, would be massive statement of intent. Edited by Goldfiinger (16 Jul 2017 2.50pm)

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

Don't think we should forget last weekends reports that we'd opened discussions on Cillessen. Also wouldn't suprise me if those talks were focused on bringing another Barca player to Selhurst as well. In the shape of Munri el Haddadi Steves got his work cut out but I recon there's a few to come yet. Mouth watering to think we're in a position where we're debating signing Barca players.
