Of course, let's bankrupt the club to make sure a few 'name ' players have a season with us. Some people will never learn. Of course Parish and the Americans should throw away their own money to reduce they abuse they receive from so called fans.
Of course Sam didn't know the realities of football and when Steve explained it to him he threw his toys out of the pram and ran to hide behind his family. Of course Sam would have put his life on hold and worked his b**l*cks off if he had 6 new players.

The comments on here are really getting to me now!

Read something you don't agree with so post a completely OTT response.

May I suggest that if "The comments on here are really getting to you now" that you don't read them as after all it isn't compulsory

I totally agree.
I would buy him without a doubt and I really cannot believe that if we did our budget would be gone.
If it is then AP cost us more than we thought?
I thought I read that somewhere that Scott Dann had been told he could find another Club - this was a comment made directly after Sam left - that being the case (and I hope it isn't) then Sam must have thought Sakho was a done deal?

Whilst I don't fully buy the FFP excuse, I do agree with those who've suggested that we're not flush with cash. Our accounts do show that we spend almost our entire income on just staying in the PL and I think the "Sakho+1" scenario that Parish suggested he'd agreed with Sam is an indication of where we are with transfer spending.

Agree.

last year with £78m TV money we lost £5m for the year. This year it has gone up - just announced our 14th position has earned us £115m in TV revenue.

So clearly we are in a better position but we've already used this money to sign Benteke and Sam's January purchases and loans - Sakho cost us over £3.5m in wages and loan fees alone

BFS as I understood it told SP that he wanted to go and it was not because SP told him about what money was available he knows the realities of football more than most. BFS is just not a progressive manager and is a one trick pony.

Really? He was using revolutionary systems before they became the norm, such as sports science, GPS tracking on the field, etc. He didn't get the credit he deserved.

When taking over clubs who were in trouble he did what he had to do to lead them to survive.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't like him much before he came to the club but since he's left even the media who have mocked him have paid tribute to him as being under valued and far from a one trick pony.

If he were a one trick pony it was a trick that was much sought after and successful.

Where are these figures coming from regards our supposed "Transfer Budget" ? Just fantasy figures akin to Jeremy Corbyn's dastardly 'Labour Party" and all their spending pledges.Darned "Money Tree" and all that.

Parish said in an interview that we can't spend money next season like we have in January.

Not OTT if you read the posts that is precisely what they are saying. Of course not reading the posts is not the answer, plenty of interesting posts just the moronic ones are on the increase.

Not sure where you get any of these numbers from. Our total turnover last year was (per the accounts) £102m of which £78m came from TV deals (NB: we made an £8m loss on that last year).

TV money is up from £78m to £115m for 2016-2017 per the below link so that would put our total revenue (assuming no increase in ticket sales / sponsorship) to £139m. Last years wage bill alone was £80m (and one can only assume that with signings like Townsend, Benteke, PVA and Schlupp since then that has gone up a fair bit so conservatively I'd say our wage bill alone is probably around £90-95m. Add in other expenses and I'm not sure where your mountains of cash come from. Especially since we spunked close to £30m on two left backs in January already....

[Link]

Its quite widely publicised that each team gets around £150m a season. Are Sportstec an official source?. The Championship playoff final was labelled a £200m game for the winners. Newcastle will not be getting further parachutre payments so that goes back into the pot for each club. Parish was also given additional money by the Yanks. Without Sako we will need a decent CB to come in how much will that cost?

We spent heavily in Jan, £40 million or so. Remember previous Xmas transfer window we got Ade in and that was it, which was a mistake in my mind but that is for another thread. Sakho will cost near to £25 million perhaps higher, with Wilf now brilliantly staying can't see us being flush. Certainly need some new firepower up front as well. Remember Yannick's departure helped last summer. So can easily see 1-2 signings if Sakho joins. This is why also I feel we will be appointing a British coach, Dyche possibly, who is probably putting his feet up now for a while, whilst he can.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.
