Anyone that picks Silva before Ranieri or Mancini is totally clueless about football Mancini by all accounts wants to by manager of a champions league side and was my first choice. Silva has been brilliant at every club his been at and would've kept Hull up had he had a full season. Silva in my opinion will be a great appointment.

This is great news for the club and it shows that there is more to life and football than pot hunting. Wilf is happy living in this area, has got the contract that he deserves and will in my opinion get better and better. Good luck to him and let's hope this is the catalyst to spark quality arrivals to the club.

Why not do the job properly and appoint Wilf player-manager?

He has been bitten on the arse by going to Utd already. He loves to play football first and foremost Of course he loves the lifestyle that comes with that If he plays like he did this season, he will undoubtedly move next year. But we will get good money as he will still have 4 yrs on his contract. I am sure any buy out clause will reflect that. It has sent out a message that we can compete and any prospective manager will be licking their lips at the thought of working with Wilf. Lastly, I am not naive to think that money isn't an influence but to discount Wilf's obvious love for this club is ridiculous.

This has ensured I can now look forward to the new season. In my 30 years of following Palace no player has got me off my feet like Wilf. If he carries on his progression he is going to be f**king immense next season. He was head and shoulders above the rest of the team for most of the season so he has earned his big pay day.

Great, great news! This has really cheered me up after BS resigning. In my 40 years of supporting Palace, Wilf is way up there and definitely in my all time 11. He is one of the very few players that generates excitement when he gets the ball. He is now close to the finished article. What a shame that England management let such a fantastic talent slip through their fingers. Is it too much to hope Sakho will follow?
