I see this as a message to Liverpool. Yes, we'd love to have Sakho here but we already have 4 CB's so we're not that desperate, so don't dick us over with the fee. Are you trying to suggest that we are the only club interested in signing him?

Don't really see SP or SA as being overly romantic or sentimental when it comes to players and/or money. Bit like Paddy McCarthy the non playing capt who had a squad place ? Sorry Damo is done and should retire otherwise he's going to end up tarnishing our memories of him. We will end up pushing him onto the pitch in a wheelchair

I don't see a problem with him having one more season to be honest.

I expect Damien to play regularly next season as he is not injury-prone and the others are.

I'm puzzled by this! When we needed a centre half and had a stack of injuries Sam still didn't pick him so what game time is he expecting for next season? A half fit Tomkins or a change of formation was preferred when Damo could have just slotted in! I agree with others that he risks his exemplary reputation at the club by playing on!

May be of use if we are involved in cup competitions next season . I wonder whether that's where Sam is headed next

we have Tomkins No need for Damo time to drop down a division. As for Sakho I wouldn't pay more than 20 million. the money the skip lickers are asking for, we could (more than likely) get two Eastern European international level Centre Backs. Your forgetting how good Dann was also, match fit and free from injury he is at least as good as Tomkins.

The last month has indicated there is still a slight need for him, in case if a protracted transfer negotiation with Liverpool for Sakho, in the case of defensive crises and when we simply want to close out games with a back 3. He's still had a better season than Dann IMO, hopefully whatever the issue was for Dann is resolved next season as he's undoubtedly better than the other 3 we have permanently at the club. Also we have enough players; Fryers, Flamini, Ledley, Campbell, Lee, Mutch, Sako who are less crucial to the squad and are likely to be let go. Edited by Mad4palace (17 May 2017 9.00am)

It's interesting that so many of you chant the mantra "in Sam we trust" whereas you obviously don't as all of the posts stating that he shouldn't have given Delaney a contract extension are effectively stating that you think he doesn't know what he is doing
