Why are the press obsessed with people being "openly gay"?
It's like saying there's no professional footballers who are "openly into S&M"

It's a sexual preference. It's not a disability. It's not anything to be ashamed of and equally not anything to go round shouting about.

Where a footballer or any other bloke chooses to stick his sausage is up to him.

I was talking to my brother about this earlier , he's palace and incidentally not gay, anyway.. quite interesting he thinks the reason for no one in football being openly gay could actually be financial. With the global audience and some of the competition's and pre season tours in countries which aren't exactly gay friendly it could be financially damaging if they came out.

It's a point which I haven't really heard mentioned before.
