Meaning after decades in the English football system and after being the NT's manager, he still didn't know the Palace players?

I'd have suspected that he at least knew not to use a right footed like Ward at left back and a 1,92 player like Kelly as right back.

Truth is- he's earning a big fat paycheck and came unprepared. Hopefully this is not just an understatement and he isn't just lucky with the latest wins. Cause if that's true and all his years have been of cheating and making people think he's good at something he's not, then we're in for a lot of trouble next year

LOL! What stupidity! What meaness of spirit! His job was to turn things around and keep us in the PL next year! Are you really a Palace fan? Mate, you are on my 'ignore' list.

He has really improved a lot, the fitness (even my old man who is a Liverpool saw this against Arsenal), confidence of players, organisation and certain players have improved massively under him.

One thing I would say that he got wrong was the 3-5-2 formation. Doesn't work with our players and style for me. but in all honesty he was still trying to find something that worked for us

The other Sam needs a mention too though- Sammy Lee

3-5-2 works well when we switch to it during the game. Not so much when we start the match with it.

You clearly didn't watch the second half at Southampton.

No, you are the real Palace fan because you don't question anything Allardyce does!
Thank you for showing me that I'm not a real fan because I dared to speak my mind and I just provided clear reasons instead of just saying "Allardyce sucks"

You've proven me that you are incapable of having a normal conversation about a topic

Thank you very much you real Palace fan.
From what I understand, to be a Palace fan you mustn't say anything about the manager, no matter the real arguments you bring, no matter the fact that we're in a normal discussion about what Allardyce has done right or wrong.
I've just layed out his approach for the first 6-7 matches and highlighted some questionable decision for a "manager of his caliber" and so I must not be areal Palace fan and should be on the ignore list.

Can't you see you are incapable of engaging in a normal conversation where people give opinions and come up with arguments? Why can't you bring arguments to combat what I said about his first games in charge?

I did, I was there. That was more down to fatigue than anything else. The players were screwed from the Chelsea effort. That and bringing Bakary Sako on to replace Cabaye.

That's not how the world works mate.
You have to be either famous or very rich to get a job like that. That doesn't mean they're intelligent. In fact, most of the managers are just famous former PL or international players who have remained in the system. There's an entire network of friendships, family relations and nepotism, business connections and other "qualities" that decide the manager or head scout before the competence quality.

If you think it's so easy getting a job at these Premier League and Championship clubs I welcome you to try. If you haven't played football in the top division or aren't a well-known international or didn't have connections at the club relating to your grandfather, you won't make it

That doesn't mean you're less competent. Some, if not allof the managers these days are just the definition of incompetence

You couldn't say he sucks becasue it's quite clear to real palace fans that he does anything else other than suck. I ask if you're a real Palace fan because you have popped up from no where and are poking holes in the job that SA is doing, when the rest of us are over the moon with what he is doing for our club. Seems a fair question to me. So, are you a real Palace fan?

Okay, I'm going to ask - how many current PL managers do you think you could do a better job than, if only they would give you the chance?

I know 3 scouts who work with EPL teams (as well as teams in the Championship & beyond). One was a semi-pro player whose peak was in league 2 (briefly) the other two have only ever played for fun. All know the game inside out, know what does & doesn't make a good player & can spot talent. They make a good living doing what they do and, as far as I am aware, do not type opinions on forums claiming them to be 'facts'.

I don't think Matteo ever claimed to be a coach or scout. He claimed to be someone who knows as much as a coach or scout.
