I wanted Leicester to win the league and because I don't support Forest or Derby and am not a bitter, jealous top club supporter I think it's good entertainment if they win the champions league.

But Atletico deserved a penalty because that challenge was a cynical challenge to stop a goal. I don't care it was outside the box, he was about to assist and the defender knew it. He didn't even go for the ball, just the upper body. As blatant as it gets, desperately trying to get him outside the box. Stuff him. Eventually it goes against them like all of last season's body wrestling at corners by Huth and Morgan. Good luck next week though.

Now here's Wright, his first chance to see what he can do, and he's through, it's Wright, ohhhh what an impact by the substitute. And it's Ian Wright who's sent the Palace fans into ecstasy!

Whatever the intention, I'd still favour the consistent application of the laws of the game rather than decisions made on the basis of a moral judgment.

I'm not suggesting that happened by the way, I just think the officials got it wrong.

Can't argue with that but when Bournemouth did at our's last season and get 3 points much because of it and Man Utd in the cup final and similar some justice is served with these types of decisions.

Defenders run the risk so no sympathies.

It is a good time to play Leicester as eagles are no longer pumping endless crosses into the box trying to connect with Adebayor or Benteke.

The team looks much more balanced I am expecting a real contest here Leicester will be up for it have no doubt.

The inverse of that 'intent' argument was demonstrated the first time we were robbed by a referree in an FA Cup Final against Moan Utd. Geoff Thomas scythed down in the box but Gunn gives a free kick on the edge of the area. Jimmy Hill said it was the correct decision because even though the foul was in the box, so 'technically' it was a penalty, GT had his back to the goal and his momentum was taking him out of the area so a free kick outside was the just outcome.

Not that I'm bitter 27 years on, I stress!

We can't underestimate them that's for sure. They could punish us. But with them very much still in the mix for a semi final cl place their focus surely must be on that which means they may sit back a bit and shy away from tackles etc not wanting to risk injuries..

73/74 springs to mind. 2 successive home games around Easter where we were expected to ease our way towards Division 2 safety - against Fulham and Hull as I recall. Lost them both. Bobby Moore and Alan Mullery (for Fulham) p*ssed all over our star team.

I was at Craven Cottage for the Fulham game on Good Friday 1974 - we won 3 1. We sadly did get relegated which remains my most demoralising experience as a Palace fan. I can't see that happening this season though, whatever the result on Saturday. Good times are around the corner. :-)

Underestimate themat your peril. I'm hoping the players don't have the same mentality as some of the posters on this thread. No game easy in the prem neither will this one. Unless our players are on their game. We will find it very difficult. Let's hope it's not the same outcome that followed Chelsea game.

Never liked Leicester but love that they won the league and could get into the CL semi final.

I suspect that they will come to defend and do so much better than Arse did on Monday. Wouldn't be surprised if it ends 0-0 which shouldn't be a bad result for either team (hopefully not).

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

It's a big ask for Leicester to be 100% up for it against us on Saturday after their clash with Athletico and their need to be sharp for the return bout. Well done to them if they can manage it and nothing's guaranteed but YES it's a PERFECT time to play them.

Normally this would lead me to expect a nailed-on, ball-crushing defeat, but this seems to be a different Palace under Allardyce. It was also the perfect time to play Arsenal and, while there were balls crushed, they weren't ours.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Absolutely. If they rest a few 'stars' the players coming in should be hungry to prove they are worth a starting place & might just play their **** off to prove the point.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!
