Said this consistently for years and got hounded for it. You need a silky player like Wilf on the left to get the best out of him, for too long we've tried to discipline him as a right winger who whips ball in and judged him on aspects that just were never really his game! He needs freedom to take players on and shoot. The questions about his end product IMO have always stemmed from the fact he's been asked to do a role that doesn't suit him! (And still managed to do pretty damn well on the right)... I think a run on the left will bring out a whole other level to his game. Take Ronaldinho, Neymar for example - not saying Wilfs on that level but can guarantee players of that style would all be significantly less effective out on the right. What a goal though To think he could have been doing that for England Actually, getting picked for England is like being handed a poisoned chalice. So he probably wouldn't have done that for England. h would have come home a broken man. Hooray for the Ivory Coast. i'm tempted to say bollocks to England.

By "players 100% committed to their team" presumably he means the kind of commitment that that shower of s***e showed in the Euros. Right?

He regrets Wilf not playing for England, Wilf was in great form when Southgate was interim manager, so much so that he was the first player he went to see when he was made permanent, so why did he not pick him?! Very odd!
