You take every word literally. When I made the comment about a weak squad. I was comparing it to not replacing jedinak or bolaise properly. Let's move on now Sam has rectify the squad and we steer us to safety.

Clearly it depends on what division we are playing in, but let's assume we are still in the Prem, I would keep Speroni, Hennessey, Delaney and Ledley from that lot as no more that squad cover. You are ridiculous. Completely ignoring what people are saying. No one is suggesting Speroni is the first name on the sheet. People are saying he is a cheap Palace legend with a great work ethic who is capable and happy as a number three, much like Steve Harper has been. There will be few no. 3s with as much experience or ability. For the amount it costs and the benefits he brings to the squad it makes no sense to replace him as a 3rd choice. Same with Damo as 4th Choice CB. Why gut the dressing room, these are huge characters and managing a squad is more than just about getting the best 11 a club can afford. You didn't say a goalkeeper like Hart or Begovic either, you said you wanted 'Begovic or Hart as number 1' There's no rational point to having an old third choice goalkeeper other than for nostalgia.

I would keep ledley kelly speroni get rid of the rest we need to get the dead wood of the payroll the money we save by getting rid of the rest we could get sakho the 1st thing I would buy in the summer is sakho and by another forward and a new GK that would be us done for the summer than I would move mountains to buy sakho his been brilliant since he joined

The save against Ashley Barnes during the play-off against the south coast lot was probably the greatest in the club's history. Or was that Perry Suckling's from Simon Garner against Blackburn Rovers in the 1989 play-off 2nd leg? Anyway, it's up there.

End of contract and end of apprenticeship are times for change. The squad needs to be able to put out a team forty (38 PL - 1 League Cup - 1 FA Cup) or more times in a season. We now have a number of first on the team-sheet players who were not in anyone's thoughts a few seasons ago. Some of the remainder of the squad have done their bit for Palace; some may never perform as wanted; and we have ten injured players and almost ten on loan. I am eagerly awaiting Sam as manager next season when he has taken the opportunity presented by contracts ending to give us a squad with a more top six finish feel. I am sure that he has noticed how many teams are naming around four under 22 players on match-days. COYP.
