with this in mind, he'll no doubt replace right back and gk in close season, if we stay up. I think even if we go down, we'll be in the market for a new keeper.

He might not be here to sign anyone ...

If we do stay up and he keeps getting similar additions to Luka/Sakho types, then he's going to really carry us in a good direction...regardless of who goes out the door. An interesting thing about SA is that it's hard to see what he would step up to at this stage in his career, if successful with us. I genuinely couldn't see an obvious PL step for him, he's not likely to leave England...unless a big championship club like Leeds came up and offered big money to stabilise them, then I just can't see who he'd leave for. So I could see a prolonged period under SA if he keeps us up. We're a good fit for one another.

Allardyce to Barcelona is about as implausible a rumour as I have heard.

Even if it's not a replacement, I think we need more competition than Kelly. Goalkeeper comes down to what is available. I'm not that unhappy compared to some with WH, but understand he is limited. However, if we sign anyone it needs to be a goalkeeper who is clearly better than the three we have. That might mean spending some more money, but if it's a position that is sorted then I'd be happy doing that. No point in bringing in another person to compete with what we have. They need to be walking in as the undisputed No.1 Mandanda would be excellent if he can get fit and shake of the home sickness. That and Ward have his confidence restored. Our defence would then be sorted. Oh of course we'd need to lay down cash for Sakho. Our frail defence really could have already been sorted.

It's good to see him having players at his disposal to play good football, I think he's going to relish being at Palace proving all his detractors wrong about his style of play.
