According to press rumours Pardew was after Tomas Rincon in the summer but we didn't get him That begs the question as to why Pards got rid of Jedi in the first place, particularly when he had not got an adequate player in to take his place. We all knew that we needed a similar player to Jedi to step in and Luka's performance showed us exactly what the Team was missing. It was reported in some newspapers that the Chairman did not want to see Jedi, Gayle or Murray go but went along with Pards. Why? Any juicy rumours out there?

Murray wanted 1st team football which he wasnt going to get a gtee of. didnt get it at Bournemouth either so right shout there, his decision rather than ours.
Clinton is Clinton. I have known him for a long time, I know his mother... Simon Jordan |

The team has missed a proper holding player, but I can see why both manager and chairman understimated how key that need was.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

He will be our Michael Carrick. Allows others to get forward. We still need to work out how Benteke can get better service though.
Let's keep the ball this season! |

Very much like this lad. Has as much bite as Jedi but can pick out a pass.

2 key moments that stood out for me! One attack was going full flow and he had contributed, he held his position outside the box without committing forward and when the attack broke down he ran back and nipped the ball back for us and broke up their counterattack before calmly shifting the ball away. Build up to our goal he hit a first time pass out to Van Aanholt which a decent ball on the bounce and went pretty much straight to Pat. This guy is so calm on the ball and he reads the play just like Jedi did. It's early but he is my favourite player to watch apart from Zaha at the moment. Edited by coulsdoneagle (27 Feb 2017 6.14pm)

Mind you this weeks match will be a stiffer more physical examination of this new possession play we are trying to execute.

Just a strange little observation regarding Luka's former employers... Having only lost 2 games in the last 2 seasons with Luka, Olympiakos have lost 3 of their last 5 since he joined Palace. Edited by GlaziertoEagle (07 Mar 2017 1.46am)

Early days yet, but could prove to be the best purchase we have made for many years!

Remember Makelele who redefined the defensive midfield role.

This present team with a new right back and Palace is really a top 8 contender. Look forward to the games vs the money-teams now - no reason to fear neither the Manchester duo nor those 2 from North of the Thames. In Big Sam we surely trust - greetings from one fan who was hoping BS would join us!
