I hope everyone is now resigned to the fact that Palace will be playing Championship football next season.

I'm not. I will be when it's not mathematically possible to stay up.

Could any work on the stadium commence now, so we have to play all our remaining games away from home?

The only work that will take place in the foreseeable future, and only if we stay up, will be to accommodate more disabled supporters. If we go down, as you seem convinced we will do, there will be no work whatsoever.

In answer to the original question. With 19 points after 24 games, it's very unlikely now.

In the previous 7 seasons we've had in the PL, at the same stage in every season we've had more than 19 points. And in 4 of those seasons we got relegated so in truth I can't see us recovering from yesterday now and with the others around us now having a bit of momentum it really looks impossible.

On the plus side , once we go down Fat Sam doesn't get his bonus and probably won't go into The Championship with us, so every cloud....

Yes, I know. I'm desperate for anything that will change our current run. I just wish I shared your optimism Dave, I really do.

Yesterday was the day we had to win the game for lots of different reasons.
We were awful; the managers tactics were suspect and there is just no spirit.
We can blame everyone but i fear we are almost down - i hope not but........
Based on yesterday we could be down with quite a few games to go as well!!

I'm scarily reminded of QPR's relegation 12/13 season. In desperstion they bought big named players (eerily including AJ, Remy and Townsend!) who didn't gel and the rest is history. Hope to God I'm proved wrong!

Agree. we collectively are in a very difficult situation. However, SA is an experienced football man all we can hope is that he can fix this shattered team.

Entirely depends on how the team react to this game. It's either a kick up the arse or a boot in the face. Let's see what happens against Stoke.

Oh, I'm less than optimistic, but I made up my mind I'm not giving up hope 'til the fat lady has sung and left the stage

What I have given up any hope on is anything meaningful being done to the stadium anytime soon. Parish was as twisty and turny as a twisty and turny thing, on the subject, on HOL Radio.

Looking at the points situation we are not out of it by a 'Long Chalk'. We really need our new players to perform and get us out of the situation. If they prove a failure then we really are doomed as we cannot rely on those who have got us into this mess.

We are fortunate there are 6 teams who are almost as bad as us, and another couple in terrible form.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.
