I think I sense desperation.

The issues with overpopulation are clear and undeniable.

People like yourself will be the first in line to whinge when everything goes to s***. It will probably be "Thatcher's fault".

Agreed, but this particular stat has more to do with us living longer, not purely immigration.

This is worth a read.

It's about Newick in East Sussex a small village of about 2000 people, where 6 councillors have resigned over a planning issue.

The local council constructed a local plan to build 100 houses after consulting residents.

Sajid Javid overturned the council's decision to reject an application to build 50 homes on a farm on the outskirts of their village.

The main concern was that these 50 homes would need to drive cars into the village to use the facilities causing parking problems. The council's plan (agreed after consultation with local residents) was to build homes within walking distance of the village.

Sounds like some brown envelopes have been changing hands?

What's the problem? Let's build on ALL the green belt. We can surely build enough water dispersal systems to remove the annual rainfall. We never get floods with all this open countryside! We can just buy our food from abroad, like we always have. And go and see the lovely tower blocks around the lakes, and the slums in the dales and glens. We will have 500 million people living here. Loads of mates. Utopia.

I've already got a plot reserved in Mega City One. Can't wait.

No it isn't.

There is an big issue with the age of population but that has nothing to do with it's increase. That is entirely due to immigration.

Immigration isn't the issue, without population control, resource management is. Migrants for the most part, follow the possibility of a better life.

Its a symptom of the problem, when you have people digging diamonds out of mines for subsistence wages, and those diamonds making the western share holders of that company, and those in the distribution chain millionaires.

Its astonishing, how the CEO of Nike can be so f**king wealthy, and sell shoes for hundreds of dollars, made for a pittance, by people on subsistence wages.

Immigration is just following the money, that we, the west, exploit, from abroad.

I think its more to do with money and wealth. Companies get rich of immigration, and exploitation of the countries many of these people migrate from (or claim asylum from).

In the end, its all about resources, wealth production and greed.

It begins.

This is why the endless mass immigration is a disaster for this country.
Green Belt is about to be slowly eroded for new housing. This is the slippery slope where we say goodbye to this green and pleasant land to make room for out rapidly growing immigrant population.

We've been using this excuse for decades, as a means to keeping the housing market afloat. What will happen, is lots of new 'slightly more affordable housing' will be built on green belt land, which will stimulate purchases, raising the price of the property and pop! there goes all the affordable housing.

Rather than tackle the problem, successive governments going back 30 years, haven't tackled any of the problems of housing in the UK, except to throw more fuel on the fire. It started with selling off council housing.

The moment property became investments and sources of additional income, future generations were screwed.

There are many factors.

There is exploitation and wage suppression. The migrant and sweat shop worker are the 21st century replacement for slaves without whom we would not have built the West as we know it.
The other issue is use of resources by increased population. This cannot be ignored simply because it is uncomfortable and counter to perceived short term gain.

The population went up 10 million in the last decade and heaven know how much more in this one.
I can't take housing shortage whinging seriously when the finishing line is being moved so dramatically and constantly.
The ultimate solution is obvious.

Yes it is, and it's only going to get bigger.
