I have double checked the rules with respect to the 25 player squads. It does look as though one a club has specified its 25 player squad, that's it, no one can come in later. So given that Palace have already filled their 25 places, that's it. The only exception seems to be with injured goalkeepers. Pity, since we certainly need as many defensive reinforcements as we can!

We have Speroni and Perntreou so the PL wouldn't agree to a loan, and in any event, the loans are only short-term and would end when we had a couple of fit keepers. The PL have a history of playing hardball on emergency keeper loans:

You can remove a player from your 25 list and replace him with a different player. I am sure Chelsea have done it more than once.
Difficult to keep the 350 players happy that are on their books!
