Selling Benteke now would be a nightmare. At least wait until the end of the season

What do you expect him to actually do? work the defence when he does not have the ball, better groundwork and floor passing ability, deadly with penalties, helping at the back when necessary, better all work ethic, mind you very good header of the ball, but so far no the 27-32mil that it is claimed we paid for him and if he is so good why did Klopp sell him?

Given the inflated prices in the PL £30 mill is not a lot. If Ronaldo was all that, why did Fergie sell him? More relevant and infinitely more sensible comparison, why are fans suggesting we go for a player who was sold by spuds to a Canadian team Edited by Y Ddraig Goch (11 Jan 2017 10.22am)

Well this is an example of what he is (or was?) capable of. For some reason he doesn't seem to have the same level of energy playing for us. Edited by Pigglelet (11 Jan 2017 10.23am)

He does work the defence. Hence the goal he scored against Southampton, and the penalty he won at Watford. Passing ability? Again, he needs to have someone he can actually pass to for that to be used. Bottom line, we paid for someone who scores goals and he has done that. For such poor performance, his record is pretty good no? Imagine if we concentrate on getting the best out of him rather than replacing him after he's barely got started.

Benteke will be perfect for us when Sam gets the best out of him. I really, really doubt we've got a replacement lined up who's as good, and I guarantee that people who are indifferent now would be very anxious if we were to sell our top goalscorer.

If Remy can stay fit I think they will form a very good parternship. For someone who is lazy he has 8 goals already this season. Just needs to stop taking stupid pens! He will end up with 20+ goals this season so would be very very silly to sell I think.

10:23 Sky sources understand Christian Benteke will categorically not be moving to China in this window – as was reported in the Belgian media overnight. However, the possibility of the Belgium striker leaving Crystal Palace this month has not been ruled out. WTF BFS

I'm quite excited by the prospect of seeing this for a few games. That said, I take a lot of the rumours with a pinch of salt anyway.
