This 100%, ward has lost all confidence. Kelly you can't fault his effort but he's not up to it but a ok backup, when he's had to fill in for the odd game he's been ok but now teams target him.

Townsend has been pony, what is most frustrating is I believe he has the ability to do well but just doesn't seem bothered, work rate is poor and his execution of shots and cross in general has been very poor. I don't mind player who maybe aren't quite up to it but work hard such as Jerome and Kelly but cannot stand those who don't care such as Townsend currently, would love for him to prove me wrong though as it would be good for the team!

That's stupid. You're talking out of your ass. He ran incredibly against Arsenal. I haven't say Crystal Palace players contributing so much to helping the defence, pressing and fighting.

He cares and plays as if he cares. He did a good job and every time I've seen Townsend he does his contribution as best as possible. And he gets sh*t for it on this site.

Seriously, it's like you people don't even watch matches. You just pick up on what others say on this forum- this is called "herd mentality"

Townsend had been poor in October and November, but has in recent games found some form, and been very good the last two games. Against Arsenal, it was more him and Zaha having to drop deep to protect the full backs that led to them being less effective going forwards.

Kelly, I don't rate too highly, but he is only the back up full back, a squad player, at a small club. He's probably better suited to a 3-5-2, as going forwards he's quite a bit better than most full backs, but defensively he can be a bit lacking.

Puncheon - Try watching us play. Granted his goal scoring has dropped off, but his passing and creative play is among our best.

Ward - Excellent RB, doing a decent shift at left back, who can also play defensive midfield. Perfect player for a club our size. He'll be glad to return to Right Back though.

Agreed. And he does his best to run and press, he's not as young as he used to be.
But he's much more involved in the game than let's say...Deeney from the Watford side or Pienaar or Huddlestone.

Ward - Excellent RB

Excellent right backs from smaller teams are Yedlin, Janmaat, Weiser, Widmer. Some more excellent right backs not very well known are Mariano, Bruno Peres, Figueiras, Layun, Smolnikov, Abate.

Ward is nowhere near exceptional. Not even mediocre. Just acceptable.
