The money from the Pullis court case has helped fund the Pardew payoff. Originally posted by jamiemartin721

The only former England manager (who is still alive) that I think might be ok would be Capello, but that might just be because I think he would look good dressed up as an eagle. I think we need to accept that English managers are rubbish. They scrap it out ok in the lower leagues but rarely find any real success in the top flight. I think we should go for Mancini if we can get him. He would give the players a big boost and help attract some talent to the club. Whether he would come here is a whole other matter.

Has done a great job at Leeds this season, and didn't do too much wrong at Swansea (they've gone backwards since). Don't know why he's not been linked, even in the betting. Is probably of the view that he has a better chance of managing a Premiership team next season if he stays where he is.

Maybe SP should ask Southampton for tips. They seem to find quality managers with alarming regularity. Plenty of good managers in Europe.
