Has to be out its gone on for far too long the main overriding reason some people want him to stay is who do we replace him with but looking at the results win ratio etc I think it's a non argument anybody could do a better job if not equal it its that poor.

What the board have pulled off over the past five years has been truly mind blowing. Interesting that the vast majority of Palace fans are rightly behind them. This decision is well over my head and probably most other fans.

The main reason I have switched to out is that he has failed to improve the team. Near Total failure in the transfer market from performances in a red and blue shirt. Only improvement in defence Souare unfortunately involved in car crash. Two improvements IMO since we beat Liverpool Away Gerard's last home game. Lost track of the players signed. We need a left back in January, not sure if Alan will be able to find one. We will see.

I trust SP to do the right thing at the right time.

I do think that the board have no choice now but to continue with AP with the transfer window almost upon us how can we recruit a new manager in that time and then expect him to evaluate the needs of the team and then find the players that are clearly required. If we changed at this stage of the season it would be a much bigger risk than staying with the devil we know. I have serious concerns with little or confidence we can get any points from the next three games, I hope I'm wrong as I so much want us to remain in the PL even if that means finishing 17th!

This decision is well over my head and probably most other fans. You think 'the board' always know best with what we see on the football pitch? Really? People I've spoken to with football knowledge and experience cannot believe the situation we are in and are sticking with. The football management on pitch side of things shows rank incompetence. The only reasons I can think that we haven't got rid of him is that we are not quite in the inevitable position of amongst the relegation places and Parish feels some responsibility in not buying and actually scouting more players we knew we'd probably need. This was no surprise. I said the few outfield players we signed wasn't enough, the red and blue spec wearers thought it was amazing and lo and behold, it wasn't enough because in truth it was only half done and we could've done more..... and Souare being unavailable is not unusual in this industry. The p1ss poor number of defenders and full backs is. After all the talk of mistakes with leaving us stretched previously either 1 or both has made the same mistakes again and there really is no excuse with a net spend of £10mil. Every manager would be trying to cover Jedinak going and/or another left footed defender, not accept the situation and disappear to let the chairman make his salon appointment. Pardew is too acquiescent and manages like the fanny he was as a player. Chairman/manager relationship is important but a nodding dog as manager and chairman who'd prefer to risk us going as close to the trap door without getting in obvious additions and happy with the acquiescent nodding dog is not a match made in heaven. This risky game I think they might be playing can one day run out their luck. Having said that Pardew is pathetic. Other managers would've done better than this. So many points gifted away and all managers have problems and deal with them. He has 1 or 3 points in his pocket and flushes them down the toilet every week. We should not be where we are with a handful of wins in 12 months but he is so sh1t in this job we are, slowly drifting closer to the drop.

If we you keep delaying something then a date does get gradually closer. It should've been done in the summer and a few times since. Nobody has suddenly put us here having a handful of wins all year, with 1 win in 8, only 4 wins v poor sides on the day and losing to all the poor teams we've played recently. They have had a choice. Parish had a choice in the summer and extended his deal for 5 years. 5 facking years. I don't know how much more bad luck, players not responding to defensive training (only to take it themselves the next week), relying on penalties or red cards it's going to take to see it's not in a good state.

He should have gone after the cup final really, but as he didn't, after Swansea was the last realistic opportunity to recruit and give the new man a reasonable chance in the January window. Now I think we're going to be stuck with each other for a while. So I suppose I'm a very reluctant in, but I'm extremely nervous about our future. Edited by bexleydave (16 Dec 2016 10.13am)

I agree with everything you are saying, my concern now is it too late as the any new manager would not have the time to look at the team and identify what we need which in my humble opinion is a lot more than just a left back as some are suggesting. The problem is without doubt SP has done a great job since 2010 but now the club has reached the critical mass point where the Chairman is to close to the front line and he should step back from a hands on involvement in football matters and instead recruit a good director of Football who has the contacts to get quality players and at the same time help the manager with advice on coaching and tactics. The Director of football could also be responsible for succession planning for the future development of the club. All the stats point clearly that AP should have gone at the end of last season and I'm surprise how many people want to separate the stats from one season to the next and in any event even looking at the last 10 games we have one win which is appalling to most unless your SP?
