With a supposedly quality manager and the expensive players that we bought in the closed season I would expect us to be beating the likes of Hull and Swansea for starters.

When you make comments like "How on earth are Crystal Palace underachieving" it makes me wonder whether you are actually watching the defence's dismal performances

OK so two away games 5 points short.?
Yes the team and Pardew have made mistakes (some schoolboy errors).
I also have seen Man City lose two league games with 50 million pound players making mistakes.
Liverpools defence making mistakes.
Several teams not so good when they lose there star players.
We are no different.

You did not answer my second point where in the league should we be.?

That is not the right question. The meaningful question is are we getting better over time, and the answer to that is an emphatic no. If our downward trajectory continues we will 'transition' to the Championship.

I think you mean as a club not as a team.

As a club we’re beyond where I ever thought we would be and I’m well aware that these are the good times.

As a team, we could and should be doing much better.

Or do you think we should just accept relegation now because we’re only Crystal Palace?

Club/Team it's what happens on the pitch that matters.
And yes these are the good times Man U and Chelsea coming to town.

Of course we should not accept relegation and IMO we will be fine.

You want Pardew out and if we had 6 more points you would be fine with him.?

I know Rudi wants him out.!!

I would disagree.

Last year we looked genuinely bad after christmas. We couldn't score, our defending was pretty average as well. We had no real identity.

This year, at least you can now point to very specific areas that need fixing. Our attacking game is excellent.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

A quality manager and expensive players, doesn't guarantee results, look at Man City, where nearly every player was bought for £30m +, ripped apart by Leicester, who at the time were below us in the league.
A bit of perspective is needed, many on here have wild expectations, which are unrealistic with our track record over the years.
Ambition isn't a bad thing, but realistically we're not going to ever be a big team.

Time for me to stop slating Pardew - my own negativity is getting me down and wound up!
He is a human being trying his best - whether it is good enough remains to be seen.
I do not expect any points out of the next two games and it would be difficult to slate anyone should that be the case given the quality and fire power of Man Utd and Chelsea.
I, like everyone on here, support CPFC and so I hope we play as well as we can tomorrow and Saturday and then we can move on after that.

you can look at these 6 'phantom' points in a few ways.

2 extra wins, or 6 draws when we actually lost, or a combination of a win and 3 draws as opposed to losses.

any of them we'd obviously take, i'd actually prefer the 6 draws rather than losses, that'd show some defensive capability rather than suicide football that we currently play.

Pardew doesn't have any tactics, let a lone a plan B, how he sees this as transition evades me totally. He's torn the heart out of the team, we get shot of Jedi yet Paddy has been at the club for a million years doing naff all, Murray and Gayle didn't work in the scheme we were playing and i get that, Gayle had 5 managers that never played him and hes now in the championship, that'll change next year when they are in the Prem for sure, but I just cannot get past how Pardew seems to be bullet proof in every way.

Yes - just a little guily about banging on - albeit sensibly - about Pardew and his failings (in my eyes).
For now I will keep quiet on that particular matter.
Annoyingly I will have to miss the match tomorrow and watch it on TV.
I will be there for Chelsea though

Bet Pardew does not feel one jot of Guilt when he picks up his payslip each month. He will probably be a little dissapointed at the lack of win bonuses though.
You have and imo are justified to have a moan about the way things are.
