And our Penalty claims Willo.? I felt it was a penalty when Snodgrass made contact with Zaha. As for Benteke, probably the referee felt that contact was made with the ball before he went to ground.

I would give your views some consideration if you would just occasionally admit that the referee had a bad game that affected the result. Blatantly in this game the referee got some key, result-affecting, decisions wrong.

Even Pardew refused to apportion any blame to the referee and understood why it was given.

It was right in front of us and after seeing it once you could tell it was a blatant dive and that cheating c*** then picked him self up and scored before gobbing off, what a cnut.

At the end of the day I make an honest assessment of refereeing decisions and try to understand them from his perspective, recognising all the time that he does not have the luxury of "Slow-Mos" from different angles. It is only natural that at times referees will err from time to time whereas commentators and pundits availing of technology will always be right - surprise, surprise.

Can't understand why refereeing for top flight football doesn't follow the lead of cricket and how teams are each allowed two appeals with the benefit of TV replay? Far too many important decisions are not being followed up that can undoubtedly cost teams important points.

Gives a dive 1st half and waves away a trip on Benteke 2nd half. Inconsistent, poor refereeing which, in this age of technology should never be happening. The quicker football catches up with times the better.

Not necessarily.Managers can say that a referee made a mistake - it is only when they make allegations about honesty, integrity, fitness etc etc that they get into trouble.

Three times in one match is not "from time to time". Pardew said what he said because he gets fined if he calls it as it is, as you know perfectly well. "It's hard for the ref" is what coaches have to say when they mean "the ref f***ed that right up". How you're not boiling with rage at Jones' performance yesterday beats me. If I did my job like that I'd be sacked. Edited by chateauferret (11 Dec 2016 11.17am)

People might deem it "Outrageous" after they have seen it on "Slow-Mo" from a number of occasions. How many of these would have thought it was a blatant penalty if they saw it on the TV in real-time without the aid of any replay ? I happen to believe that without the aid of technology one can totally understand why a penalty was awarded.I believe this is what Pardew was saying. Edited by Willo (11 Dec 2016 11.20am)

If you really don't care if anybody considers what you have to say then I do not understand why you post so often. I have never criticised one of your posts before I was just trying to explain that there must be occasions when you think the referee hasn't done as well as he might and if you were to document these occasionally your support for referees might get a better response. So do you think yesterdays referee had a good game? Equally, pundits have the same advantages over the players too and criticise them as much or perhaps more often than referees. Would you rather there weren't pundits?
