Undoubtedly but mountains and molehills springs to mind I'm not one of Pardew's biggest fans but the way some of the people on this forum look for the slightest thing to moan about shows how small minded many people can be. Pardew isn't the most erudite and articulate of speakers but he isn't paid to be and it's just a sad fact of today's life that football club managers need to give constant interviews to satisfy the public's insatiable desire for more and more trivia and gossip. It's fairly obvious to any reasonably intelligent person what point he was trying to make and this petty sniping from people who would probably also stumble if made to give interviews in the heat of the moment is ridiculous

OP asks what people think of his comments. Some say meh, others think them foolish. Some then micturating about any kind of criticism ensues. In isolation, the comments mean almost nothing. But there is an litany of foolish public comments from AP who is the figurehead for a big business and earns a vast salary.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I doubt The Americans will be bothered or that they even pay attention to after game comments They care about results. That's where they will make judgements Obviously SP has been a conduit to inform them during this bad run But this match by match comment by comment action by action

Yanks as a whole have never been overly impressed with 'soccer' anyway,it took a long time to catch on because they don't like low scoring sports, they could never get their heads around how we can have draws as well.

I’ve not been on Pardew’s case at all but the arrogance of saying (in public) that our major investors don’t understand football, so it had to be explained to them that losing 6 in a row is ok, is just mind blowing.

It seems that many HOL posters like to bandy around clichés from a very limited range with "arrogance" and delusional" being the run away favourites. What Pardew said was not arrogant in the slightest and your comment about "losing six in a row being OK" is just your interpretation which is miles away from the truth. It seems that many people aren't happy unless they have something to moan about. We won 3-0 so everyone has to find something else to whinge about

We won 3-0 so everyone has to find something else to whinge about Jesus one win (which makes 6 in 36 games) and every one thinks he's the next Pep Guardiola. Southampton had lots of chances, but we did play a million times better than we have of late, I also noticed Wilf was tracking back like some sort of demented dog after a bone, and that massively helped out Wardy. Tomkins looked assured at right back, and Damo added so much needed steal in the box. Whether Pardew was responsible for the change in tic tacs is anyone's guess, a strong rumour was that he let the players decide how to go about the game. Great result, great day. but I still want him gone.

We won 3-0 so everyone has to find something else to whinge about “We have a lot of serious investors at the club who perhaps don’t know a lot about football, so the Chairman has been defending me this week. “It’s hard to dress up six defeats when you are the owner of a club where you have investors.” I’ve hardly twisted it have I? Such a bizarre quote is definitely worth comment. I think most people would see it as staggeringly arrogant. At best it’s undiplomatic and foolish and he can hardly expect our know-nothing owners to be so lenient with him on our next poor run.
