That is pathetic. We are not in a position to throw away points that have no guarantee we would amass later in the season, even if Guardiola's in charge.

Whilst I hear what your saying with regards to hoping the team lose, I would prefer us lose against Saints and then get a replacement sharpish who can organise us and salvage some part of our season than build up some false hope with Pardew and most probably go down, sad but that's what its come to.

I've tried to make myself want Palace to lose just because something needs to be done to get him out the door but can't bring myself to do it. All I know is the worst possible scenario is Pardew staying at this club, the guys like a poison - still think we underestimate the talent in the first XI in comparison to a lot of Premier League clubs.

We're the Arthur over ere!

Brilliant comments, this is a results business and the fact is he is not getting any in our favour.
We have to get him replaced with a manager who can re-motivate the team into winning again. We have under performing players in key positions
Cabaye - he is better than his form shows
Townsend - Poor at present and needs motivation
Benteke - Great player, I ask you all can he do better?
Others as well, we need change to re-fresh this talented squad or I fear we will get relegated.

we could have some prick lik fat sam in charge, lets just be grateful thats not happened.

Why do you think that he deserves time and why do you think that a "prick like fat Sam" isn't as desirable as a prick like Alan Pardew?

According to reports (The Times) AP wants £5M in compensation if he loses his job, that could be what is holding things up!

Its not what AP wants its what Palace would have to pay him if we terminated his contract.

We paid Newcastle £3.5m in compensation to get him here in the first place.

His original contract was a believed £1.5m a year until the summer of 2018. After protracted discussions in May this year AP signed a new contract believed to be until summer of 2021 obviously north of £1.5m a year!

That is probably why the board continues to monitor the situation as it is. They will not wait forever but I believe AP still has a bit of time to try and turn it around.

Can you believe they let him sign a new 5 year contract in the summer after the way we finished last season ?

I said as much at the time and was shouted down.
Given the second half of last season the new contract should have been withdrawn until they could see what was happening this season.
SP is not stupid though and there could be a break clause in the Clubs favour which would be dependant on results?

No I can't. Any contract offer should have been withdrawn pending a reassessment this season. It makes me nervous of Parish and co.'s decision making abilities with respect to Pardew's future now. Plus we've saddled ourselves with an even more expensive contract to get out of.

Let's hope so , then compensation would be a fish & chip supper , no gherkin.

Thanks for that, I am of course merely the messenger conveying what the press are reporting. I assume the detail of the contract for AP is an educated guess of what it might contain rather than the actual details because if not correct then it would seem to be very one sided. This is especially so bearing in mind the 2 wins in 19 PL games for the second half of last season. I would hope that the contract is both performance related with break clauses for reviews at critical points in the season (ie end of season and end of November each year). Hopefully one of those reviews are now taking place as it would be foolish not to sort this in the next few days as the transfer window is approaching and clearly we need urgently some quality players if any can be persuaded to come to a PL club in such a dire position, as a result of poor team coaching and tactics.
