The squad on paper should be better after that spend but we still short of quality defender, goalkeeper and a linking midfielder. Worst of all we have a Manager who can't do his job and I'm not convinced that some of the more expensive members of his squad have been worth what we have paid for them?

Pardew has not had a bad season overall? We have the worst record in all 4 divisions in 2016. It's not rocket science. The FA Cup run simply papered over the cracks and we ended up ballsing it up in extra time. Giving him till the end of the year is blind optimism, unless the Pardew apologists wake up and get their heads out of the sand.

Still, if we end up with (and this is a long shot) 18 points from our next six games, I'll come back on here and admit that you were right.

Yes Pardew has not had a bad season OVERALL. Please name the bad season if you disagree(this season isnt finished)

He's lost the last 6 you fool.

Poor prep taking his eye off the ball in 1st game v West Brom.

International break and then West Ham.

We have only beaten a poor Stoke at the time, Sunderland and Mboro.

We let in 2,3,4,5 goals a game and you have die hard players falling asleep and others falling out with him on a monthly or is it weekly basis now? He's ripped the spirit and glue out of the squad and I'm not surprised following his previous treatment of players and other shenanigans. And what about the 'if your dinner looks nicer than mine then we swap' type bullying at West Ham. He's had a good run but it's over.

Sunderland survived by getting Sam in early. Newcastle left Benitez too late. We can do one or the other.

But one thing's for sure. The population living up Pardew's arrogant rectum has dwindled to about 6 people.

Ok let's just take this season then. We have won 3 games, lost the last 6 on the trot. Sit in 17th place. Shipping goals for fun. The team has no confidence whatsoever. We have just lost to the bottom club, letting in 5 goals in the process, after fighting back to take the lead with 6 mins to go. All this with what is arguably the best team we've ever had.

Not a bad season so far??.define bad.

I never said it wasn't a bad season so far. I said he has never had a bad season overall(this season isnt even halfway through)

Yep let's wait till we're absolutely sure he's the worst manager points wise out there when we're bottom and nobody wants the job.

You're smart.

I can only compare people excusing him with those who ignore a tradesman making a complete mess of an extension only to allow him to carry on and why at the end there's gaps everywhere, it's sinking and leaking.

Too many people scared of their own shadow or Pardew will be too lonely perusing his multi million accounts on the hill up here or more likely in 20 something nightclubs.

Trouble is I just can't see him turning this around. He may win a few games, but I fear the next bad run would be just around the corner. I'm just sick to death of it. It's the first time I can ever remember that I'm not looking forward to going to selhurst Saturday.

Play on words if you must but the facts and stats will show a big downwards spiral that will send us at pace towards the championship. To ignore the trend in any business that shows things are not working will result in failure unless you take corrective action. Supporting AP if you want is fine and commendable but it is a bit like moving your deckchair around the Titanic in order to keep you feet dry!

I think our biggest problem is lack of leadership.
Why is there no fighting face on the field.
It is not Pardew who is kicking the ball around, it is the players! And no one seemes to take that responsibility it is to be a leader.
If we only had someone like Jedinak, he was a true leader and that is what this team lacks.
A f***ing leader on the field.
Do we have one in our group???
Johan Cabaye?
Flamini?who hasn`t played yet?
Dann?
Mcartur?

Getting rid of AP is not the first thing to do. And who to replace him?

Warnock???? Big Sam or as my son says "very big Sam"

It is not that easy, best thing is to keep AP for he time beeing and let him turn things around.

If things are not better by end of year, then replace him.

The argument that Pardew's (or any manager's) performance can only be judged over a season is entirely specious. As with any employee he will be judged on his record during his employment and most particularly his current record and taking into account his previous record.

If you had an employee who had made you money in the first half of a financial year, and lost you most of it in the second half, and then continued to lose you money in the next financial year, would you wait to the end of that financial year (or bankruptcy) before deciding if his/her continued employment should be reviewed? No sane person would answer 'yes' to that question.

Indeed it is; it has become increasingly clear that Pardew is a seriously inadequate leader.

It bl**dy well ought to be for him FFS.

Defining the period of performance assessment in terms of "a whole season" and arguing that nobody can say he's s***e until he's actually got us relegated is just sophistry. It's blindingly obvious that this regime doesn't work, it hasn't started to work despite a big transfer window spend and a change of system, and anyone who thinks it's about to change spontaneously is f***ing nuts.

Oh, and even if it did, it would only be a matter of time before it happened again, as eny fule kno.
