Cabaye is suspended for the Southampton game so there's one definite change!!!

Who ever thought it was a good idea putting one of our smallest players to defend on the post!

So you'd rather have the shorter players marking the attackers and the taller players marking the post?

It's clear Fryers cannot be trusted. He can't get a start in a team leaking goals. My big changes would be Jules in goal, Lesley at left back and Campbell up front with Benteke as 442 looked decent at times. Oh, and I'd also make puncheon captain. Dann is a terrific centre half but he needs to focus on his own game. Clearly being captain has had a detrimental effect on his form.

Considering the the squad is totally devoid of strength in depth, this has led me to conclude will this Saturday see the return of Jules ?????????

Yeh lets put Speroni back in and after this we will win every game and qualify for the champions league. Wake up you nostalgic numpties. The problems run deeper than the goalkeeper

The trouble is, changes in tactics and personnel generally need time to click- a few games if trying to change the way a team plays or formation. Pardew knows he doesn't have that time- so, does he stick with 4-3-2-1, try 4-4-2 again or just swap players?

Whatever he chooses, Southampton are going to hit us- hard. Austin hitting form at a really bad time (for us) and give him a sniff of a chance and he'll take it. Not looking forward to the next game.

Said this a few weeks back - from the start of the season (injury aside) he's not looked himself.

Maybe three at the back with Fryers & Ward out wide might shore things up? I can see a Delaney/Dann Tomkins combination becoming a really solid unit which should be able to provide Fryers in particular licence to get forward (until Pape's back at least).

Macca with either Cabaye, Ledley or even Flamini in front of 'em then Benteke, Zaha & Punch/Townsend up front.

Then, maybe, Cookie as manager?

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

First I would drop Hennesey - once again he made the same old mistake and showed no discipline at the free kick! Bring in Speroni! ( that won't happen though with AP in charge !! )

Second I would drop Benteke - he went missing in his defensive duties several times and he won't win any aerial balls from Fonte and Van Dijk this Saturday.

I'd play Punch wide left and Townsend wide right where he wants to be and then put Wilf as striker where he can use his pace against those 2 giant centre halves.

Ledley to play behind Cabaye and McArthur.

As for the defence - Tomkins to play RB and Ward going to the left with Dann and Delaney reunited in the middle.

Speroni
Tomkins |Dann Delaney Ward
McArthur Cabaye Ledley
Townsend Zaha Puncheon

Speroni's past it. Benteke might have messed up defensively but you don't drop him and play Zaha up front! Cabaye's suspended.

Didn't know about Cabaye so replace him with Flamini if fit.

Paul Robinson played a blinder for Burnley on Saturday so never write people off. If WH is so thick that he can't stop making the same mistake over and over again I'd rather play an oldie !

Benteke hasnt been playing well as a centre forward so maybe he needs a kick up the arris anyway. On top of that he's useless defensively. Zaha's goal showed what he can do so give him a go - it can't be any worse than what benteke is doing !!

Things are wrong so we need changes - you're idea of sticking with the same old same old will get us relegated.
